OTWC #26, Moxie Ruffle style...

Kim at Off the Wall Craftiness has another great challenge this week- aren't those colors fab?
Here's my take:

Heather Bailey patterned paper- as soon as I saw the inspiration I KNEW this would be the paper I'd use (yay for me- I CUT pretty paper!). Mounted on PTI hibiscus cardstock. I used the PTI ticket die & it's official stamps. PTI smokey shadow ink on this one.
How about that gorgeous May Arts ribbon! If you've got some time to kill, you really should check out the catalog...!

The next one has PTI white base, versamark ink, and I used two fiskars border punches & offset my scallops- a la Moxie Fab style!

Head over to Moxie Fab & OTWC to see what everyone else has done on these challenges! And don't forget the current May Arts fall decorating contest!!! :)
Thanks for stopping by- I'd love to hear what you think!

September PTI blog hop- Embellish style

It's Blog Hop time!!! This month we're supposed to show something we've learned from a fellow stamper....

So I combined this with the current Embellish challenge- stamping your own background paper.

I used my fave PTI sets to create my background- guidelines 2 & giga guidelines. PTI smokey shadow cardstock, vellum lining. PTI smokey shadow, fresh snow; versafine black onyx & brilliance sunflower yellow (stamped off once) inks.

Also used the new PTI fillable frames 8 die & stamps for the cut out & sentiment. Creating the background paper with this set is something I learned when giga guidelines was being released- I think mainly from Nichole's blog. The cut-out of the main panel is Maile-ish! :)
Thanks so much for stopping by- I'd love to hear what you think! Go here to see the list of 'hoppers'!
Happy hopping!!

Off the Wall Craftiness....

Kim Wilson is one of my May Arts blog team-mates & Off the Wall Craftiness is her blog! She has these terrific color challenges & today I finally got to play along! :)
Here's the challenge:

And here's my take:

PTI pink blush cardstock, butterfly dreams stamps & smokey shadow ink. Colored with prismacolor pencils. This one is for a sweet little girl that just turned one....

This also qualifies for this week's one layer Wednesday, 3+1 (3 images, one sentiment) over at Simiplicity.
Both of these challenges end tonight, so once again, I'm barely under the wire! Go check out both sites to see what everyone's done!! :)
Thanks so much for stopping by- can you believe TWO posts in one day for me? I can't believe it either, but be sure you scroll down to see my other card for today! You know I'd love to hear what you think!

Embellish Paper Piecing Color Challenge

Here's my take:

I so love those Pure Innocence girls! I paper-pieced her pants with Cosmo Cricket Earth love paper. Cardstock PTI kraft, spring moss & white.

She's stamped with versafine black & watercolored with various ink. I applied glaze pen to her shoes & stickles to her clover & hair clip. The focal panel is cut out with nesties. The base layer is stamped with PTI polka dot basics 2 in versamark & the 'lucky' is stamped with SU! old olive using inkadinkado type stamps.

How about that GORGEOUS May Arts sheer/looped trim? :) The challenge closes on Sept. 23, so you've got time to participate. Or head here to check out the great entries!
Don't forget to head over to May Arts blog to see the current contest- it's all about decorating for fall!

Fall into Autumn/ EBTKS #23

It's a challenge day for me! :)
I'm barely under the wire for Wee Memories Fall into Autumn challenge- it ends in a couple of hours. I've been wanting to play all week, and if anyone has a suggestion on where to find a few spare hours, I'm all ears!!!

I thought I'd try to work in the EBTKS sketch too- another challenge I haven't been able to play along with for awhile! Here's the sketch:

You have until Sept 24th to play with EBTKS....
So here's my take!

PTI vintage cream card base & nesties cut focal panel. Cosmo Cricket earth love 6x6 paper. PTI through the trees stamps. Ink is SU! old olive, versafine sepia, and Dew drop brilliance rocket red gold (that's the coppery color I used in my last card & mistakenly referred to it as momento- oops! still wishing the shimmer of that ink showed in the pics, but alas, taking pics at night doesn't give you much shimmer!!) And a little PTI chai ink around the edge of the focal panel.

What do you think of that ribbon? Pretty awesome, right? It's May Art's orange leaves satin cut-outs. I just held it where I wanted it & ran a quick straight stitch with my sewing machine down the center. How easy peasy is that? And a simple example of the current May Arts challenge- sewing with ribbon. You've got 2 days to sew some ribbon on ANYTHING & post it on the May Arts blog (that challenge closes Sept. 19th)!!
ALSO- I must again encourage you to 'like' May Arts on facebook- they're giving ribbon away right & left on their facebook page too! Make sure you check their page EVERY week!! :)
Thanks so much for stopping by- I'd love to hear what you think!

You can do it at a trot....

You can do it at a gallop!

You can do it real slow....

So your heart won't palpitate!
Just don't be late!
Do the Puyallup!
In case you can't tell- we did the Puyallup Fair on Friday!

We met up with our friends Tanya & Ava!

Checked out the animals...

Pioneer farm (yes, I am even more in love with my washer & dryer)

and my tub of butter that comes from the grocery store!

The girls did the rides...

made some music...

wouldn't be the fair without fair food!
We obviously had a ton of fun!! My girl could do the rides ALL DAY LONG and be happy! She can't wait until she's tall enough to go on the BIG roller coaster!!!!!!!

Play Date Cafe Challenge 46

The PDCC#46 is black & white with a 'splash' of color- we could use pink, copper or gold. I went with a copper-ish color for my splash.

PTI embellishments stamped on PTI white cardstock with versafine black ink. The sentiment is from the same set- but it's a momento ink.... I wish you could see the shimmer!

Just a quick post for me today- millions of things in the air- I haven't become a proficient juggler...yet. Wish me luck on that!
Thanks so much for stopping by- I'd love to hear what you think! Don't forget to check out the other entries at PDCC!
ETA: My friend Erin (the challenge superwoman) let me know that this card will work for Simplicity's OLW#19 challenge- so I'll link it up there too! Thanks, Erin!

I have a kindergartener....and May Arts!

So let's start with the ribbon....
gorgeous, right?

Makes you want to sew it onto something, right?

I can hardly blame you! These are just a tiny sampling of the gorgeous ribbon in May Arts catalog....
Head over to May Arts & check out the current challenge- sewing with ribbon! Leave a comment & post a pic for a chance to win a spool of ribbon of YOUR CHOICE!!! You've got until Sept. 19th, but why wait- get over there now!!! :) And while you are there, you might as well browse that gorgeous catalog!
Ok, on to the sappy portion of the post!
My baby started kindergarten yesterday!!! I can't believe it. Wasn't she JUST born? Seems like it!
And check this out- we had homework BEFORE school started!!!

I thought Natalie would love the misting... :)
Then we stamped & she colored!! :) I'm pretty sure she'll have the cutest snack mat in the class!

Those are stamps from My Cute Stamps, if you were wondering!
So we made a healthy, hearty breakfast... (and apparently we've entered the era of peace signs for pics...)

It was raining so we took our first day pic inside...

her cute new 'Tink' backpack

and because I know this is the last time her cute new shoes will look like this....

She was SO excited for school to start!! She had ZERO separation anxiety... wouldn't it be nice if the same were true for the mommies?
So here's the pic right before she gave me the 'bye, Mom' without even looking up....

When we picked her up we asked her how it went- she said 'It was WONDERFUL! That's all I can say!'
Hope that's how she feels EVERY.SINGLE.DAY.
Man, I do love that little person.
:)
