PTI January 2013 blog hop

It's time for the PTI hop!
Me posting 3 days in a row is nothing short of a miracle, but I'm skipping sleep to create something! :)
The challenge was black backgrounds- super fun- and the chalkboard craze is still going strong! So glad I was able to make something in this style before it passed!
So here's my take:
I used tag-it #11 on black with white embossing & vintage cream ink shadow. I also embossed a frame with a spellbinder die & added a bit of prisma pencil.
Needed something, so I added May Arts Baker's twine.
And then I added text. Did I go too far?
Maybe. Owell. Still a fun Valentine! :)

Thanks so much for stopping by! Happy Hopping!

Napkin Bling

Happy New Year!
Lol.
Seriously! Where has the last month gone?
I hope you got a chance to hop through the May Arts/CardMaker Hop- there's still time to leave comments on the way for your chance at some May Arts ribbon! I've got all the links in my post here. (winner will be drawn 1/25/13).
And you NEED, I repeat, NEED to check out the May Arts CHA post- so many amazing new ribbons AND a chance to win some! (winner will be drawn 1/28/13).
I had a post up at May Arts- last week! oy! Go over to see how easy it was to make these:
As far as what I've been up to....
Crazy proud of our daughter, Hadley, for her 3rd and GRAND PRIZE entries in our PTA's Reflection program for photography!
We've taken up skiing this season! Cory & I both used to ski a lot in our youth, but this is Hadley's first season and she LOVES it!!! We're having a great time, but it definitely cuts into the crafting!

Don't goggles make me look pretty? hee.

And I received a surprise gift from my UBER talented friend, Kyle- of Blue Fish Studios

He's making these beautiful stained glass hearts! Go check them out- they would make a very unique & thoughtful gift! Be sure to look at his other creations while you are there- he is amazing!

I had someone tell me they would like to follow my blog, but didn't see where to do that- so I've added a 'subscribe to' button in the sidebar- but I'd like to know if that's helpful! I so appreciate those of you that stop by & leave sweet comments!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
xoxo

May Arts Cardmaker Hop!

Welcome to the May Arts & CardMaker Magazine Hop! I thought I'd get a start on some Valentines- and wanted to try to keep them pretty mail friendly!
I've started with a white card base, stamping in silver ink with The Craft's Meow set Holiday Foundations (designed by Royal Ribbonista Karen Baker!)
I used a spellbinder Lacey Circles die to cut the 'love' element. The 'love' stamp is from Hero Arts 'xo' set.
Even though there are a lot of layers of ribbon, this is pretty flat- possibly standard postage flat! Woohoo!

Ribbons Used
silver & white 1.5" natural burlap

burgundy 5/8" satin pleats

white 1/8" silk
