PlayDate & Feathers

I've been trying to not buy new supplies JUST to play in challenges, but while I was shopping for some last minute birthday items at joann's yesterday I saw these feathers, and I couldn't resist playing in the Moxie Fab Fascination with Feathers. These makes me want to get guinea hens- aren't they gorgeous?
The Playdate Challenge is a color splash- my ribbon is a little big, so hopefully it still counts as a 'splash'! :) PTI embellishments in black on white cardstock & the button is from a LSS (tied on with black burlap string).
The birthday cake is nearly decorated, but we still need to work on Hadley's Star of the Week poster, so that's it for me today! (I cannot believe my baby turns 7 tomorrow!)

Thanks so much for stopping by! I'd love to hear what you think! :)

I've got a super fun card today using the Sweet Stamp Shop gumball machine! Don't you love those burlap gumballs?! (admittedly, they leave a little fuzz in your teeth. hee.)
There's also red wrinkle ribbon, and aqua sheer ruffle. All atop paper from my new fave DCWV stack- Carnival!

Butterfly & Baker's Twine

I've got a quickie to show you today! A pretty butterfly I cut out with my cricut using a MME 6x6 pad. The cool paper below is also from a MME 6x6 (thanks, ~amy~!). A little May Arts Baker's twine is the perfect match!
And May Arts has paired up with the Sweet Stamp Shop this week- you know what that means! Inspiration, Fun & Prizes! :)

Embellished with The Craft's Meow

I've used TCM's free digi (thanks, Karen!) & sketch (by ~amy~!) to play along with the Embellish challenge. I used Tattered Angels ink to color that lovely ribbon rosette.
I've also used the brand new May Arts WIDER organic stripes, and the scalloped edge satin. That's American Craft mix-tape on part of the center panel.
I feel like my colors got too vibrant, but what do you do?

March 2012 PTI Blog Hop with Jay Gee & RCC

This month PTI gave us a beautiful photo inspiration for the hop challenge- here's what I came up with:
I used the borders & corners (oval) set- a gift from my friend, Cindy! And the bunny is from Places, please. I used an oval nestie to cut the main panel & accented with the fab May Arts chevron twill & brand new Baker's Twine! :)
 Here's the PTI inspiration:

And Jay Gee's is so sweet & springy with Easter images- so I'll play there too! :)
And the challenge this week at Ribbon Carousel is using Baker's twine- check!
Thanks so much for stopping by! Happy hopping!

Challenge Crazy

I'm playing in a lot of challenges with this one card! (and it's sad how long it took me to create- ok recreate, since the original version didnotwork.)
PTI aqua mist base, polka dot basics, scattered showers & die, vintage lace die. Yummy May Arts satin ribbon, and the new bakers twine tying that button on .
I stamped the sentiment in pink and cream for a bit of a shadow effect.
The technique on the umbrella is from this week's MIM.
I think I've covered the elements of CAS-ual Fridays challenge: one pattern, one image, one sentiment.
And the colors and dry embossed element are inspired by The Shabby Tea Room.
 And Jay Gee's Nook.
WHEW! I believe that is a record for me- and it will make my friend, Erin, grin. Thanks for stopping by! I'd love to hear what you think!

Flashback 21, Journal & Leprechauns

The Flashback Friday Challenge is to post our first paper-pieced card- here's mine, originally posted 7-6-09! You can hardly see the nestie embossed frame....

And I recently had occasion to make a journal for my little. Her birthday is coming (much too quickly!) and we surprised her with an early trip somewhere she'd be collecting autographs....  Cosmo paper, and I wanted her name to stand out, but I went a little crazy with the red. Red is not such a forgiving mist. Live & learn. I also layered some grosgrain, sheer pleats & burlap sting. And it held up very well! (these are 'after trip' pics!)
Any guesses where we went? hi ho, hi ho!? :)
We also built a leprechaun trap! This really is all Hadley's design, but I helped her with the execution. Do leprechauns visit your house? They visit her school & make a mess, so if that leprechaun knows what's good for him, he'll skip our house. Although Hadley wrote him a note & is hoping to be pen-pals with him.
oy.
Cory says this is less of a trap & more of a condo. Why would he leave? The trap is at school, so we'll have to wait until Monday to find out if she caught him!
And so sorry all the pics are so lousy for this post. Sheesh.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Happy Wednesday to you you!
