July 2016 PTI Blog Hop

This month the inspiration was a fabulous pic from a blogger I already followed on Instagram- Classy Cutter. It's so fun- I had to sneak a quick card in!
Here's what I came up with:

Pulled out some old sets to create this- background basics diamonds, on my couch & graceful greetings provide the flowers on the pillow. I used a zig pen on the light to match the flower centers since I'd done that with a prisma pencil before I added the light!
A little selective scoring & done!

Happy hopping!

MFT Camp Create 2: Background Bonanza

I managed to participate in all 5 of the Camp Create 2 from MFT this week! Whew!!
This is my entry for Background Bonanza:

I've used Lawn Fawn images and Prismacolor pencils on kraft cardstock. I have quite a few Prismas from my landscape design days, but after watching the video, and seeing the magnificent coloring/shading done, I clearly need more!!
The sentiment is from Lil' Inkers. I masked the panel with post it tape to stamp & color, then outlined the area with a micron pen.
What a great week of challenges & inspiration!

MFT Camp Create 2: Magnificent Masking

I've had so much fun watching the videos this week & trying a few new things! Here is my entry for Magnificent Masking:

I used a spellbinder die and several pieces of post it tape to create my mask & I used distress ink to blend over it.
My sweet, retired PI image is zigged on a spellbinder circle. A layer of vellum was also cut with a spellbinder die and these two layers top a vellum flag with a black heat embossed sentiment.
A few Pretty Pink Posh sequins & a thin layer of black cardstock down the right side finish it off!
Hope you get a chance to play in these challenges too! I'm building up my birthday card stash!! :D

MFT Camp Create 2: Inlaid Made Easy

My entry for MFT's Inlaid Made Easy!

I've used a spellbinder die for the scalloped circle & the 'hello' & 'sunshine' are pti. The paper is foiled cardstock that I believe may have been packaging for something? :D
The patterned paper is SU! that I won from Danielle Vincent during the last coffee hop! yay!
A few Pretty Pink Posh sequins (I tried adding stickles to the center- that's new to me!) and I've got an uber cute, mail friendly card!

MFT Camp Create 2: Coloring on Kraft

I'm playing along with MFT again- Coloring on Kraft is the 2nd challenge- here's my take:

I've used a retired PI image- Start Each Day with a Wee! I tried a no-line coloring approach. I think my eyes may be getting old- or maybe I should not try this technique so late at night- the lines literally seemed to disappear before I even got the entire image colored! ha!! Prismacolor pencils were used and a copic outline finished the image.
I cut the panel with a spellbinder die; two coordinating DCWV papers were used as a base & the focal image is popped up with dimensional adhesive. A little twine finishes it off!
So excited that I can play along this week!

MFT Camp Create 2: Fantastic Foiling

Print

I'm so excited to be able to participate in more of the challenges for MFT's Camp Create 2!
The first challenge is Fantastic Foiling- here's my take:

I used a retired PI image- possibly my favorite one- she's soooo sweet!
I tried a few different things with the foil (yes, I went out and bought some minc foil- but I resisted the minc machine!!)
Liquid adhesive wasn't so great, but using scor-tape worked fairly well. Not nearly the shine you get with a laminator, but still lots of shine!

I left her uncolored, only adding a tiny bit of pink to her cheeks with chalk. I wanted all of the focus on her super shiny balloon & little heart embellishment. I cut the panel with a rectangle spellbinder die & added a bit of crochet below it. Sheer mint ribbon is wrapped around the DCWV patterned paper panel.
I LOVE the shine foiling adds- maybe the Minc will make it on to my Christmas wish list! :D

MIM #255: String Art Using Die Cuts

The challenge Amy came up for us at PTI this week was to use string with die cuts. I looked at my dies and when I saw the Spellbinder bicycle I knew what I wanted to do!

I found some silver metallic string so I created my spokes with it. I then stamped grass from Garden Variety & ink blended below. The flowers in the basket are also from that set. The sentiment is from Enjoy the Ride. I also spattered a bit of Pear Tart spray ink by Fireworks- it's got some pretty iridescence.  A few little pearls for the flower center after some zigging of the bicycle (of course I would love a bike this color!). I mounted it on some DCWV patterned paper & added a bit of sheer ribbon.

Hope you're having a great weekend!
