MIM #250: Masked Backgrounds

This week Laurie challenged us to create a masked background.
Here's what I came up with:

I've used 4 colors for the background blending and then stamped the focal image from Reasons to Smile. I love this technique! I think the crisp lines look great & I'm getting better at wiping my fingers off to avoid an ink oops!

Erin isn't #1 this week (does that throw other people off too?), not to worry- I told her she still had time tonight- and even though I'd already masked my card when I told her this she still finished before I did! :D
Hope you are all having a wonderful weekend!

PTI May 2016 Blog Hop

It's the 25th so time for a PTI blog hop!
The challenge this month was this great image:

Here's what I came up with:

I used the bitty butterflies coverplate to lightly trace in pencil the butterflies and then I used the inspiration pic and tried to zig the butterflies in the same colors as the popsicles. I lightly splattered as well, although it doesn't show much. Maybe if you click on the images you'll be able to see it.
Sentiment is from Botanical Silhouettes stamped in smokey shadow- wish I'd moved it down a teensy bit... I mounted the panel on Berry Sorbet cardstock.
Happy to have a birthday card for one of my nieces done- and their birthday is in August! Woohoo!

I've been a busy beaver today but looking forward to hopping tonight!
Thanks for stopping by!

MIM #249: Make it With Money

This week Lexi challenged us to add money to our card design. She had a very cool shirt that she folded, which made me hit Pinterest to look for another pattern. I ended up using this pattern.

Some old MME cloud paper, some extra butterflies from bitty butterflies (stamp/die) & sentiment from butterfly dreams, I believe. There's a large butterfly under the money butterfly that is a Skipping Stones image.
Hope you've all had a wonderful weekend!

MIM #248: Ink Blending Through Die-Cut Masks

The challenge this week was to use die-cut masks and ink-blending to create a card.
I used spellbinder dies for my masks- here's what I came up with:

Thanks for stopping by- have a great week!

MIM #247: Watercolor Card Sets

Hi there & Happy Mother's Day to all the Mama's out there!
This week the very talented Melissa challenged us to make a watercolored card set- here's what I came up with:
(so sorry about the pics- I was a little too relaxed today & didn't get pics during daylight!)

I've been busy zigging- I am forever grateful to Karen for telling me to try them on Bristol paper- LOVE.
I've accented a couple with G45 paper, and all have a touch of ribbon.
Below I've taken individual pics...

Which one of these things doesn't belong?!
We adopted a cat last night from the local shelter. He's pretty cute- about a year old- not at all sure about the dog (thank goodness he has basically no prey drive)! It does seem that I'm more allergic to him than to our previous cats. Hoping to give him a bath after the trauma subsides!
His name was Prince- but that isn't staying. Had is thinking Barney, but she keeps referencing a big purple dino in an effort to tease C. I don't know if Barney will stick- we'll see!
