Spring Coffee Lover's Bloghop!

Print

I've used the pattern that Julia Stanton (thanks Julia!) provided in the last hop & cut a cup with my silhouette.
I did the base as a shaped card (per the pattern) but then cut another layer with DCWV paper that looked very springy & another lid to top it with.
Stamped it with PTI latte love & added a strip of 1/4" chevron twill in celery & then tied it with grape burlap string.

I think it looks very springy indeed!
Here in the PNW it has felt like spring for several weeks- it seems that winter missed us completely this year! Already mowing lawns & pulling weeds!!
Thanks to Amy & Chaitali for another amazing hop!!!

PTI February 2015 Blog Hop

This month we had a photo inspiration (see below)- and I'm always such a literal girl!
I used the Spellbinders die with contact paper for a mask, colored with watercolor pencils & added water.
Voila!

What do you think? Before I added the water I was thinking that I had chosen poorly, but as soon as the watercolor effect happened I was a bit smitten.
Vellum panel so that the sentiment (from botanical blocks) didn't cover much of the pattern- gold heat embossing.

Here's the inspiration pic. I should've done more blue, but was going mostly from memory...
The night pics really aren't doing it justice. boo.

Blog Hop Inspiration

Can't wait to see how others were inspired!
Happy Hopping!

MIM #201: Cover Plate Stencils & Embossing Paste

This week the challenge was to use PTI cover plates & embossing paste to create. How lucky am I that Erin sent me several that she'd cut out! I put the chevrons to work here, with gold embossing paste from Dreamweavers.
Swoon. Seriously.
That gold is too much. When it was wet I wasn't sure how metallic it would look so I sprinkled some of the Dreamweaver f/x powder in a few places. Turns out it didn't need it, but added a cool texture.

I cut some tickets out of vellum, stamped with just the ticket & heat embossed with black powder.
A layer of 3/8" black metallic velvet ribbon anchors the base.
I put some rhinestones in the top corner- wish I had some gold sequins on hand!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great week!!

PTI Anniversary: Blue Ombre

Another PTI challenge entry! This one was to use blue ombre on our project.
My daughter was working on a school project with watercolors so I took advantage & colored a panel with blue myself- then sprinkled salt on top for the spotted effect (all those art docent lessons are giving me fun ideas!)

Die cut the birthday out of vellum & added some May Arts parrot green burlap string.

Happy Valentine's Day!

PTI Heavy Metal Challenge

This PTI anniversary challenge was to use metallics & neutrals-
here's what I came up with:

Background basics polka dots in black topped with a spellbinders gold foil 'hello'.
This is all on a white pearl cardstock panel.
I am not going to lie.
I LOVE this.

Thanks for taking a peek- hope you're enjoying the festivities!

PTI Anniversary: Maile Belles Returns

I love Maile's style- and happy that she will be bringing us more PTI inspiration!
There is a challenge to create something inspired by a project found on her blog- I found this and
here is what I came up with:

Here is the original from Maile:

You can see I replicated her project in different colors- and used a different sentiment :)
I am enjoying the PTI anniversary party! Hope to create more from the inspiration (of course we've got a science fair project & valentines to contend with, so we'll see)!!
Thanks for stopping by!

May Arts + Faber Castell

I had a crazy good time playing with the Faber Castell goodies I was working with!
May Arts + Faber Castell = BIG FUN!
Here's what I have to share:

I used 3 colors of gelatos from the red mix & match set & mixed it with the whipped spackle.
Gelatos Colors-Red
Whipped Spackle
Ombre fun? Yes, please!
I spread that over 2" webbed weave ribbon.
I tied a big 1.25" white silk bow & 1/4" pink silk tails

Another mix of gelato & spackle, this time spread over 7/8" adhesive fleur-de-lis scroll design.
I love having cards like this in my stash!

I can hardly contain my excitement for this project!!!
I've painted a bottle with a multi-surface paint on top & the bottom is Faber Castell's chalkboard paint!
LOVE!
Chalkboard Paint
I've tied 1/8" burlap cord in ivory at the color break- with a nautical knot in front.
Burlap string in ivory around the neck, with the tails holding navy satin cut-out anchors!

I used the Stamper's Big White pen to create my 'chalk' ahoy!

Have I mentioned that I'm excited about this?
:D

Ok, you know there's a giveaway, and more inspiration to be had!

MIM #200: Layering Cover Plate Dies

This week the challenge at PTI was to layer cover plates.
I put a Spellbinders die to work here- PTI white cardstock, red from my stash, & Tag-Its- #11, I believe.
I stamped the sentiment on May Arts 5/8" Cotton Stripe in black.

Are you ready for Valentine's Day? Hadley & I worked on hers this weekend- as well as her science fair project. I suppose that's the upside to no skiing- time to get that done over the weekend....

Excited about the fun challenges happening for PTI's anniversary- hoping to play in some this week!

I will be back tomorrow with a super fun May Arts Swap- hope you can stop back by!!
xoxo
