December 2012 PTI blog hop

I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas!
Time for another PTI hop! This month's theme is white on white. The storyboard is lovely & really plays up texture too, so I've created a CAS, mail-friendly thank you card with that inspiration!
White card stock stamped with a thank you sentiment from Embellishments (fresh ink in gray), embossed with the wood grain plate & tied with a simple, but elegant May Arts 1/8" white silk ribbon.
It's so hard to capture, but I spritzed the whole panel with smooch spray & it really sparkles in person!
Thank you so much for stopping by! I'm looking forward to seeing all the inspirtation! Happy hopping! And have a safe & Happy New Year!

Ribbonista Christmas Blog Hop!

Welcome to my post for the First Ever Ribbonista Blog Hop! :)
I've got a fun and fast idea for Christmas tags for you!
Chalkboard art is all the rage right now, so I thought it would be fun to make some tags with the idea!
I picked up some chalkboard paint at the local craft store, as well as some balsa wood shapes.
I used my crop-a-dile to punch a hole.
I painted both sides & let them dry. Two coats did the job! (granted, painting the tags 2 times doesn't make this a 5 minute project, but you can paint them super fast & set them aside to dry whilst you are doing 300 other things *wink*)
Don't forget to 'season' your chalkboard! Rub chalk over the entire surface, then wipe off. By doing this you will be able to reuse your tag- the original message won't be there permanantly!
I used Baker's Twine for my loop.
For the first pic I used a piece of chalk, but then I got fancy & bought a 'Bistro Chalk Marker'! :)
They look great tied onto packages!
Ribbon used:
Now you probably can guess that there will be prizes to be had, so make sure that you leave coments on all the ribbonista's blogs for a chance to win, and to be completely inspired!!!

For Sebastian

Sebastian is having another surgery & my sweet friend Amy is hosting a challenge to get his room FULL of cards!
I've been swamped, but since Amy said we could use a card from our stash, that's what I'll do.
I will be taking this to the post office TODAY- not even putting it in my outgoing box. NEED to get it there in time!
I hope his surgery is easy for him. I hope his recovery is fast. I hope his room full of cards brings him cheer & knowledge that many people are praying for him.

Ribbonista Christmas Tree Inspiration!

The Ribbon Lady had a really fun idea to show off the trees of the May Arts Ribbonistas decked with ribbon!
Here's my family's:
It is really a mix! There are ornaments we've collected together, as well as some from our childhood- and now many that our daughter has made! More & more all the time! :D
I've used red glass balls to tie it together for years, but this year the addition of the ribbon really TIES it up with a bow! hee.
The 2.5" sheer/wired ribbon (JN 14) is really gorgeous on the tree, and I've added it to our wreath:
 and chairbacks as well!
I actually made these items TWO years ago! (wow!) The details are here!
I simply pack them in a ziploc with the holiday decor!
Now, you all know the Ribbon Lady is a fan of sharing the beauty, so make sure you leave a comment here, and check out the other inspiration as well- I hear there are SPOOLS involved! *wink*
Thanks so much for stopping by- I hope you've been inspired!
May the peace, joy & love of the season surround you!

November 2012 PTI blog hop

Happy Holidays!
Wow, how crazy that it's that time already?
This month the PTI hop challenged us to be inspired by a book cover. Nothing popped into my head immediately, so I started browsing book covers! I almost chose the Secret Garden, but instead went with The Catcher In The Rye. It's been a long time since I read it, but I let the CAS design, clean font & gold inspire me.
I used a glue pen to apply the gold embossing powder for the  border. The sentiment from Tree Trimming Trio is also embossed with gold powder.
Here's the cover:

I can hardly believe I've created something without ribbon! After you hop, make sure to stop by the May Arts blog to enter the Thanksgiving weekend giveaway! :)
Thanks so much for stopping by & happy hopping! :)

Helmar + May Arts

Welcome to the Helmar & May Arts hop!
These two companies give me much to be thankful for! I've shared my love for Helmar adhesives here many times, so I was so excited to have the opportunity to share a project using their quick dry adhesive!
You should've arrived from the talented Emily Lanham's blog!
I've made a fun tree using the great Imaginesce Christmas Cheer paper line!
I simply punched circles with a 1 3/4" punch, and used the quick drying adhesive to lock them in place on a papier mache cone. I painted a wooden candlestick from the craft store black for the base of my tree, and put the cone right on top!
I then wrapped the tree in the silver eyelash ribbon, and topped it with the silver metallic string for a very festive garland! These were also glued in place with the Helmar's 450.
And a silver string bow top made with the bowdabra! Fun!
Ribbons used:

And the fabulous Helmar's 450 quick dry!

Thank you so much to Helmar for such awesome adhesives- and thank you for your time! Here's the hop schedule- I've included both days so you don't miss a bit! Enjoy all the inspiration, and be sure to leave comments on all the posts for a chance to win some great products!
Your next stop on the hop is thee fabulous Jingle!

Day 1 – November 19th
Day 2 – November 20th

Wishing you and your family a happy Thanksgiving!
