Tag You're It #39

My friend Erin is the designer fir the Tag You're It! challenge this time around & she encouraged me to play along!
Here's what I came up with:

PTI tag die as well as plane stamp & die. Patterned papers are old- the clouds are MME & the plane is on Little Yellow Bicycle. Loved that I put a bunch of older supplies to work for this!
White 1.25" silk & 1/4" taupe silk finish off the top!
There's still a couple of days to play along with this one! :D

I've got some super exciting news to share!
I will be the Guest Designer in March for Paper Sweeties!
I can hardly wait!! :D

Stampendous + The Ribbon Resource!

The Ribbon Resource and Stampendous are teaming up this week for some fun & prizes!!
Here's what I've come up with:

I stamped the giant peony image & heat embossed with Stampendous Summer Shine Embossing Powder in pink.

I tied a 1.25" fuchsia silk bow around the card, layered some 3/8" multi-sized beaded string & tied them in with the 1/4" fuchsia silk. I love how it turned out!

Next up a Valentine card!
I heat embossed the sentiment white white detail powder, and the little hearts with clear detail powder.

I tied the 1.5" white Valentine's Day Ribbon around the base and added a 3/4" red satin heart to the center!

PTI Blog Hop: January 2016

This month the inspiration for the hop is a photo- see below.
I was rather stumped until I started looking through my patterned paper & found this piece from Authentique- the colors seemed like the ones from the inspiration. Now that I've got them both up they aren't a perfect match, but I'm ok with that!

I used fillable frames 8 for the frame & sentiment.
I used 5/8" orange ruffle edge down the right border- love the detail it created!
I'm normally so very literal- glad I could think outside of the box on this one a bit!

MIM #237: Matchbook Valentines

This week the challenge at PTI was to make a matchbook Valentine.
I can't remember ever using this technique, which is crazy! It is fun & easy!
Here's what I came up with:

I put an old sheet of patterned paper to work as my 'matchbook' and added a stamped Valentine from Tag-It's #11.
I covered the staples with 3/8" adhesive ric rac. Super fast & fun.
LOVE how it turned out!

Create Along With Us: January 2016

This week PTI challenged us to create along with them as they showcased the new release. I was smitten with Melissa Phillips' card and decided to recreate it!
Here's what I came up with:

I used the butterfly from Love Lives Here and colored it with the Zig markers I won during Pretty Pink Posh's Birthday Bash! (EEEK!!!) I really loved the way they colored! I'm not a copic girl at all, but these are much more like watercolors!
A flourish from Fancy Flourishes is stamped with Chai ink. I don't have a tag that large so I used a spellbinder circle die to round the top.
The felt hearts are from the centers of one of the Love Lives Here dies & they are machine stitched in place with gems added to the centers.
The gold background I created with a coverplate Erin sent me- I used Versamark ink & then brushed on Dreamweaver Metallic f/x in goldfinch.
My mom has been sick so I used a thinking of you sentiment from Botanical Silhouettes.
The ribbon is 1/2" solid wrinkled pink that I've added some ink to.

Here's Melissa's creation... So very pretty!

Cardmaker Hop!

I'm playing along with the Cardmaker Hop today- here's what I've come up with:

I used Authentique patterned paper for the panel. A layer of 1.5" cotton ribbon with red stripes was topped with 5/8" red adhesive rosettes
Yep,
Adhesive.
Love.
I tied all the layers with a red burlap string bow!

One more:

This one uses more Authentique paper, this time I topped it with 5" white tulle that I folded in half  so that it would appear more white. I adhered a row of 5/8" red satin hearts over the tulle then layered red burlap string & ivory burlap string & tied a bow with them together!

There you have it! And I've got some Valentine's ready to go!
I hope you enjoy the hop!

Of course there's a prize: 2 prizes of - $25 gift cards to the Ribbon Resource!

Here's the lineup so you don't miss any inspiration:

Make it Monday #236: 2015 A La Carte

This week was a 2015 a la carte week at PTI- so I chose the make your own foam stickers!
I had some craft foam in my stash & am embarrassed to say that I have not finished my thank you's- so here's what I created:

The top is glitter paper- so much tidier & preferred when the card is for a man! ha!!
Looking forward to finding more time to craft in 2016- maybe I will be able to play in all the MIM!

January Sketch For You To Try

I'm playing along with SFYTT for the first time since my parents are rock stars & gave me some Reverse Confetti for Christmas! That Holiday Coffee Hop sure added to my wish list!
Here's what I came up with:

I used a DCWV card base, topped it with 2" natural cotton burlap blend, topped it with a snipped of 1.5" cotton ribbon with red stripes, then tied a 5/8" red twill knot. I forgot how much I love that twill!
I used the 'Be a Barista' & 'Caffeinated Cups' Stamps & Dies.
I can't remember the last time I used a sketch! I wanted to put those new goods to work for my parents' thank you! ;D

MIM #235: Adding Color to Stamped Images

This week the challenge at PTI was to add color to stamped images. I used the prismacolor pencils & gamsol technique & LOVE the vintage feel it gives the flowers from Graceful Greetings!

I used a DCWV printed card base & spellbinder dies to cut & emboss the panel.
A simple gold metallic string bow finishes it off.

I made a few of these since I have lots of thank you's to send after a wonderful Christmas!
I'm quite behind since we left the day after Christmas & spent the week in the snow!

Happy 2016!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great week!
