The details are on the post, but basically you need to submit 3 projects for the first round of applications, and one of them needs to be a tutorial. These are due to the Ribbon Lady no later than June 11th.
I thought I'd start with a patriotic wreath tutorial! Perfect for Memorial Day, right? I'm grateful daily that I was lucky enough to be born in the USA & even more grateful to those that keep us FREE.
For your supplies, you'll need a wreath form, ribbon & pins. The Imaginisce ribbon cutting tool is fabulous to use too! I've used about 5 yards of red, 4 yards of white, 3 yards of blue 1.5" double faced satin. I also cut stars from cereal box chipboard with my cricut & pained them white with acrylic paint.
I used the pins for rough guidance on how wide I wanted my stripes to be, and then started wrapping!I was careful to be sure the straw was covered & then used another pin to secure the end.
I continued this process until I'd made it all the way around.
I used a small piece of 3/8" grosgrain pinned in as my hanger.
I added the stars with straight pins as well & hung up my wreath!
Thanks so much for stopping by! More posts for the DT call to come... :) I will be crossing my fingers & toes to remain a part of this awesome team!!
Super wreath idea, Jen!
ReplyDeleteAwesome wreath & tut my dear!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat tutorial, I wasn't thinking of hanging a wreath today, but I love the idea that this one could be brought out year after year... maybe the Inn needs one for 4th of July?
ReplyDeleteJen, what a cool project, and I do have to say a fabulous and easy to understand tutorial as well. Had me looking at my ribbon to see what kind of wreath I can make. PS-I think the stars were a fine addition, makes it really patriotic now!
