Snowflake garland...

I finally have pics to share of the snowflake garland I made thanks to Holly Jones. I think it turned out pretty neat! I thought it would be a good project for Hadley & I. She helped cut out the patterns, but the felt was a little stiff, so I did most of that. And I decided the hot glue was a little too hot & messy for a 4yo, so I did that part too. She gave great directions, and I think next time she'll be able to help even more! :)

It's not like I haven't been doing anything....

I mean, I have wasted a lot of time. But I've gotten a lot done & made some great memories with Hadley! Check out this gingerbread house. She picked the one she wanted to do & we went for it- not too shabby either! :)

This house was Cory's grandparents & has been living in our garage for several years 'cause it was yellowed & full of cobwebs, etc. So I vacuumed it out & got a lot of the old finish cleaned up. I used a wash of white to tone down the yellow of the years, added some brown to the doors & went to town with 3 types of glitter. Which totally don't show in the pic. It could still use more glitter, etc., but that's an outdoor project. Only so much of the spray adhesive I want to breathe.

And this is an apron I made for a dear, DEAR friend. And she loves things that are made. And I love her. Turquoise is her fave color- and who doesn't love damask. Seriously. And if you look close at the damask you'll see it's created by 2 bunnies. yep, it's darn cute. :)
And my amazing husband took me to Seattle last night to stay at the Westin. He's really fabulous. And since I've been working more (to fill in for a friend/coworker) he convinced me to buy some really cute Christmas cards. He knows I have the stuff, the intention, etc, etc, to make the cards, but we are coming down to the wire! He really wanted to lighten my load, and for that (as well as his amazing love & support in general) I am grateful!
OH. And I finished my snowflake garland- need to get some pics....
so see- I haven't JUST been sitting around! ;)

Happy Thanksgiving!

I have many, many things to be thankful for; most of which are not things at all....

On to the cards! White cardstock bases, with CM orange cardstock with sentiment printed from my computer (first time on that- pretty fun!). The ribbon is from Joanns- too tired to check the maker right now! Bottom border punches by fiskars & eksuccess.
And ooooh, the stamping. It's pretty yummy, if I do say so myself! :) Giga guidelines & guidelines 2 from PTI. The ink is all stampin up! orange, rust, caramel I believe. The centers are accentuated with 2 colors of stickles. The panel is stitched on- nothing fancy there- didn't want to detract from the STAMPING!

Here's a detail shot- 'cause I think it's so pretty! :)

Thanks for stopping by- and have a safe, joyful Thanksgiving!!!

Plum Crazy

Well I made it in just under the wire for the Moxie Fab challenge!

I used my new PTI trio of trees (finally!)- stamped with plum SU! ink. The base layer is PTI vintage cream, as is the focal panel. I cut the focal panel with nesties & attached it with dimensionals for a little pop. The plum layer is by deja views fresh print- it's 'grape damask'. And the ribbon is Offray.

Those are seed beads & tiny twinkles on the tree- beads underlining the 'NOEL'. Here's the funny thing on that- my needle was too big to fit through the beads, so I had to thread my needle to get through the paper, take the thread out, thread the bead, then rethread the needle. The things we do for love. :)

I think it turned out pretty- sometimes it's hard to know when to stop! :)
Thanks for stopping by- don't forget to check out the other plum crazy cards at Moxie Fab!

boo cards!

Can you tell I'm loving that MM pp? I made these little square cards mainly from the scraps from the candy bar wrappers. The 'boo' is cut out with the cricut (stamped), and the little embellies are punche/or cut from the paper & I embossed with several layers of UTEE. Little stitching around the outside- and how cute is the little clothespin with the matching paper? :)
Same fun scraps, but used one of those yummy punches for the black along the top (fiskars, I think). The stamp is a $1 from Michaels or Joanns, stamped with brilliance & watercolored with SU! ink. I die cut it with labels 1, and used PTI vintage labels & the glue pad to get more of the FAB black glitter that I am still swooning over- but it doesn't show well in the pics! Black ribbon from my stash...
Both card bases are PTI vintage cream.

Halloween treats

Well, I'd been wanting to make some little treat sleeves for some candy bars for the special little kids in our life.... And since I bought the awesome pad for my Boo Banner- thought this would be a good use of the Memory Maker paper! Ribbon is offray, buttons & orange embroidery floss from my stash, twine is PTI. Same paper I printed on my computer for the banner!

Moxie Ruffles!

Well, it took me entirely too long to get this done, but I love it! And more importantly Hadley (my 4yo loves it!)
I'd been wanting to do another banner- and it gave me an excuse to get the MM Spook Alley paper! :) And I really wanted to give those paper accordions a try- like Kelly Lunceford's
Wow- they were so hard to get to stay down! I ended up having to stitch them down!
And the challenge at Moxie Fab World seemed like a good use of black ruffles!
PP is all spook alley, cream paper is PTI printed on the computer, backed with black cardstock & stitched. The letters were cut with my cricut (stamped cartridge)- the b is chipboard, but there were technical difficulties, so the o's are black cardstock. They are coated with versamark and covered with Martha Stewarts black onyx glitter *swoon*! I honestly wanted to cover everything in that yummy black sparkle! The little embellies were cut from the pp & covered with UTEE- how fun is that? They look store-bought! The buttons are sewn on with orange embroidery thread- both from my stash. The ribbon is Offray. The overall size was 5x7, and I adhered them to chipboard after adding the RUFFLE on top! A little fun stitching & distressing on the bottom!

Thanks so much for stopping by!!!

SFYTT

I got busy with that paper from MME again- it's so pretty! Thought I'd use this week's sketch from Jen Del Muro. I'd link you to the sketch, but I keep getting an error message- dang!

Cardstock is PTI, stamps are an old SU! set, colored with prismacolor pencils. I cut the focal image with nesties. Buttons & rick-rack are from my stash, PTI twine.

While I had this stuff out I made another card with the same supplies. I used the sketch from 2sketches4you. I was too late to link it up, but liked the sketch, so I went with it! I also used some Martha Stewart brown twill & MM eyelets. And that border punch is ek success.

Gradient is Radiant!

I wasn't sure I'd be able to do this awesome Moxie Fab challenge- but I'm really happy I did! And what could be more perfect for 'gradient is radiant' than using Radiant Pearls!? :)
I used snowqueen, silver bells, whisper blue & midnight for my background paper (on watercolor paper). I then painted on the midnight to my PTI damask stamp & stamped it onto watercolor paper. Then let everything dry overnight! I used labels one nesties to cut the focal image & mounted it on creative memories blue cardstock. The ribbon is from Offray. You really have to click on the pics to see all the shimmer- it is so pretty in person!
Thanks for stopping by!!! :)

Fall banner

I thought I'd have a go at making a fall banner after being inspired by Kelly Lunceford- http://flutterbyatomicbutterfly.blogspot.com/ . I justified buying the MME "fall in love" glitter pack, instead of buying individual sheets (thank you Michaels coupons!)- so all the pp is from that. Cardstock is PTI. I started with 5x7 paper & cut it into triangles. I used my nesties to make the ovals & ran them through the cuttlebug swiss dot folder. The letters are cut with the cricut (base camp?) and popped up on dimensionals. The buttons are from my stash, twill is martha stewart, twine is PTI. I also added stickles (can you ever have too much glitter?)- but none of that shows up in the pics! Darn night photos!
I actually think it looks pretty cute- although when I went back to Kelly's blog, I can tell which one of us is the novice! :)

everything but the kitchen sink challenge

Here's my take on the challenge- it was to use something that came in the mail that day- so I cut out these letters from a Ben Franklin ad.... Cardstock is PTI, border punches fiskars, twill Martha Stewart. Pp is MME, text is PTI background basics stamped with SU! close to cocoa. There's another one of the flowers I crocheted!!! :) And a flower brad from Making Memories in the center. This was pretty fun- and it forced me to break into that BRAND NEW My Mind's Eye paper pack- which my natural tendency would be to hoard!! Hahaha!
Thanks so much for stopping by!

Baby cards!

My friend Kami had her baby last Saturday! My mom & I had bought her some little fun outfits for when Kaidyn is tiny, since Kami said she hadn't received too many tiny sized things! I also went through my tiny stuff and gave her what I had! So of course I had to make her some cards- one from me & one from my Mom! :)
The first one is the one I gave her. I used my brand new labels 8 nesties for the funky shaped focal image. Another old SU! set, stamped in SU! close to cocoa, colored with prisma pencils, the center heart has that pink stampology ink & diamond glaze. I popped the top of the stroller up on dimensionals. The background is stamped with PTI background text, and all the edges use PTI's tea dye inks. I think the pink layer is PTI too, the ribbon is from Michael's, flower is prima (?), and button from my stash.
A little view of the inside, since I thought that was cute too! :)

This is the card I gave her from my Mom! Base is PTI, pp is Cosmo Cricket, punched with that awesome border punch (fiskars)- actually I used both of the punches! Stitched them together, and added some crazy stitching. Ribbon is PTI, and the crochet flower- yep, ME! Button from my stash. The stamping is hard to see- I used a flower from a Rubber Soul set I just bought, and the letters are CTMH. I stamped the 'baby' in white snow, and then over stamped in spring moss (the original formulation). It's very soft & pretty in person, but doesn't show well in pics!

Thanks so much for stopping by!!!

embossing birthdays

I had 3 birthday cards that I needed done this week- all for little people! I think you can guess their ages! :) I got out the cuttlebug folder & went to town! I used CM red cardstock & PTI pink blush cardstock. I highlighted the year with dimensional glaze, and since it didn't show much on the pink one, topped it off with prismapens. Some ribbon from my stash on the red cards, as well as nesties 'frames'. And the new eksuccess border punch really looked great on the '7' card!

The paper strip is from the paper stack I got in Poulsbo 'divine'. Button from my stash. And that crocheted flower? I made it. Yep. I know, I can't believe it either- but isn't it adorable? :)
I also did some loose stitching on this one, & PTI vintage tea around the edges.

That's it for now- better get them mailed!!! Thanks for stopping by!

Moxie classy & elegant

Well here's my shot at classy & elegant! Pictures don't do it justice (darn night photos!). Blue cardstock is PTI, as are fancy flourishes stamped in versamark. Snowflake embellishments are Memory Makers. 'Joy' is SU! in versamark. The snowflake stamp is old! Now a lot of my stamps are old, but this one says PSX 1988! I think it may have been one of my first stamps, and not used in eons! I used palette fresh snow & added a rhinestone to the middle- it's much prettier in real life! Stitched around the edges to finish it off!
Thanks for checking it out!
Here's a link to check out LOTS of classy & elegant work:

Moxie stamped

This is an IMPRESS image, as is all the cardstock. It's stamped with versamark ink, then carefully chalked in two colors. Dimensional glaze was used to adhere the red seed beads.
Thanks for stopping by!!!
Check out more of the stamped holiday cards here:

Moxie clean & graphic

This is a Rubber Soul Art by Dave Brethauer image. Stamped in SU! old olive, colored with prisma pencils. I used dimensional glaze over the lights. The red paper is Creative Memories- punched with my brand new ek success embossed curve punch! The focal image is outlined with a white prisma pencil.

Thanks so much for looking ( and leaving me some love!)
