January 2014 PTI blog hop

The month's go faster & faster don't they?
This month the PTI blog hop challenge was to use pink- I can do that! ;)
I used the poppy stamps after embossing a frame with my Spellbinder dies. The flowers are stamped with Tsukineko versamark & pixie dust ink then embossed with Stampendous clear powder. The stems are in Delicata gold- swoon!

I added the 1/4" chevron twill by cutting slits at the edge of the 'frame'.

Thank you so much for stopping by- happy hopping!!

MIM #148

My friend Erin pointed out that she tries to be first for Make it Monday, and I try to be last. I don't actually plan it that way, but it seems to be the way it works out! So here I am again- probably last!

I admit that I thought it looked like blurry stamping in the video- but thought it worth the try. Turns out I like it! (should've stuck with one color for the sentiment though...)

I used the pretty peony image & fresh ink. They all have at least 2 colors, and the lower images have three. I was going for a bit of an ombré look.

I probably would've worked on something earlier- but was entirely too distracted by the Seahawks game! They're going to the Super Bowl!!!!! GO HAWKS!!!!!! It was also superhero spirit day at school on Friday, so I had my hands full working on Hadley's plan- I will share more on that later.... ;)

Thanks for stopping by- love to hear what you think! ;)

MIM #147

Here I am just under the wire again for Make it Monday! This week really flew by!
I'm using Star Prints- turns out I have very few sets this technique would work with!
My stars! Those center ones are tiny!
PTI cardstock, smoky shadow ink; all other inks are Fresh Ink.
Can you see I've popped up some of the stars? Scrapbook Adhesives Dodz did the trick.
Thanks so much for stopping by!

MIM: #146 angled backgrounds

Making it barely for this week's MIM challenge!
Patterned papers are DCWV; will link ribbon later! (May Arts of course!)
Yes, I know this pic is not in focus, but Hadley was helping me practice with a bokeh filter- check out the heart flames in the background! :D
We went to my in-laws this weekend & Hadley shot an official Red Rider bbgun (it was my FIL's from his childhood)! It's the first time she's even held a gun & she thought it was pretty fun & had surprisingly good aim! Perhaps a future marksman?  Thankfully not one eye was shot out!

MIM: A La Carte #2

Two posts for this week's MIM!
The second is MIM #102: pillow box stamping
I used berry sorbet paper & bb:diamonds with the fabulous Tsukineko delicata ink- swoon! I tied it up with some May Arts 3" gold ribbon- love the simple elegance! The pillow box die was a Christmas gift so I couldn't wait to use it! I have a few more gifts that I'm excited to put to use- soon I hope!
Thanks for stopping by!

MIM: A La Carte

We could choose whichever MIM we liked this week, so I've used 2 different ones :)
Here's the first is MIM #134: repeat & lift.
I used the thank you die & stamps with some fresh inks for a great CAS thank you card. More of these are sure to be made!

December 2013 PTI blog hop take 2!

Take two on the December PTI blog hop for me! :)
Adding some string (May Arts burlap string) to a wine tag.
I've added it to the button element too. I used some packaging to cut the 'joy' diecut & put it on top of a May Arts ribbon pennant (1.5" metallic ribbon)!
DCWV patterned paper.

Thanks for stopping by! Happy Hopping!

December 2013 PTI blog hop

Merry Christmas!! I hope everyone had a really special holiday! It is amazing how much hustle & bustle there is leading up to Christmas & how quickly it is over!
We try to schedule a down day for the 26th every year, so we've already watched the Sound of Music with friends- very relaxing! It was Hadley's first time seeing it & it was so fun to share it with her!
On to the hop! This month the theme is 'tied up with string'- our movie certainly has that running through my head now too!
I thought it was a good time to start on thank you cards, so I've used vintage cream cardstock & topped it with some imaginesce patterned paper die cut with the 'thank you' die. May Arts burlap string ties it all up! Totally CAS.
Here's the inspiration:
Happy Hopping!

Ribbon Ornaments

I have a post up at May Arts- a great one for a quick & thoughtful gift! Head over to check out the details!

Ribbonista Handmade Gift Hop!

The Ribbonistas are hosting a handmade gift hop!
I decided to make this burlap table runner. I had seen one similar at my local Ben Franklin store & thought I had the perfect May Arts ribbon to add!
This runner uses 1/2 yard of red burlap.
I started by turning the edges twice & machine stitching to keep the burlap from fraying.
I then added 1.5" natural faux burlap and 5/8" natural crochet ribbon to each side, machine stitching them in place.
Here is the underside of the end- I stitched down the outside & did a little stitch in the middle to hold it together.
I added a tassel on each end made from 1/8" ivory cord/burlap & more of the crochet ribbon.
I really love how it turned out & think it will be a well-received gift!
I know you're going to want to see what inspiration the other ribbonistas have for you!
Don't forget to leave a comment at each blog to increase your chances to win 3 spools of  ribbon-your choice!

Happy Hopping!

May Arts + Scrapbook Adhesives!

May Arts has teamed up with Scrapbook Adhesives for a week of inspiration!
Here's what I came up with:
I must say- I love this. There's something about burlap, eyelet ribbon & glitter paper!
LOVE.
I used the crafty power tape to adhere the 5/8" eyelet ribbon to the top & bottom of each banner- it is super sticky & worked great!
The burlap & 'glitzy glitter' paper are from DCWV.
I used the 3/8" eyelet to string the banners.
The small 3D foam squares were perfect for attaching my letters (cut with Cricut 'Base Camp' cartridge)
I added a bit of natural burlap string for interest & easier tying!
Thank you to Scrapbook Adhesives for great products!
Thank you for stopping by! I'd love to hear what you think! :)

Ribbonista Christmas Card Blog Hop!

Welcome to the Ribbonista Christmas Card Blog Hop!
I used to make cards every year- I would make the same card 70-80 times! It seems that having a little person in school uses up the time I used to make all of those cards! Ha!
I have to admit, when I received the Echo Park 'tis the Season' pack, I was inspired! All the cards I've made are from that pack- embellished with gorgeous May Arts ribbon, of course! :) I love that there are so many pretty elements- I will be using that pack up!
First up- this one uses one of the stickers from the pack. I topped some of the patterned paper with faux burlap in olive, then red sheer box pleats, and tied it up with red/white baker's twine!
I love the result!

A different patterned paper is topped with the same olive faux burlap & red chevron twill & sticker. A totally different look!
Cute green polka dot paper again! This time I used 3 ornament stickers, but cut off the 'string' they were hanging on & replaced it with silver string metallic ribbon. I topped the paper with red velvet ribbon, then ran another piece along the bottom & topped it with the 'celebrate' sticker.
I've used the gray snowflake paper again- this time topped with red burlap, red center stripe sheer (isn't that ribbon SO Christmas-y?!), and a sticker.
And last up is a printed panel that I topped with the banner stickers. They are hung from twisted rope ribbon! I've used tape on the ends, but you could leave it off & fray this ribbon too!
So I've got a start on my Christmas cards this year! Yay!
You know there will be lots of inspiration- AND PRIZES! You could win 3 spools from our Christmas Category!!
WAHOO!!!
Post a comment on any stop along the way for your chance to win!

Jen Shears- that's me!
