Baby cards!

My friend Kami had her baby last Saturday! My mom & I had bought her some little fun outfits for when Kaidyn is tiny, since Kami said she hadn't received too many tiny sized things! I also went through my tiny stuff and gave her what I had! So of course I had to make her some cards- one from me & one from my Mom! :)
The first one is the one I gave her. I used my brand new labels 8 nesties for the funky shaped focal image. Another old SU! set, stamped in SU! close to cocoa, colored with prisma pencils, the center heart has that pink stampology ink & diamond glaze. I popped the top of the stroller up on dimensionals. The background is stamped with PTI background text, and all the edges use PTI's tea dye inks. I think the pink layer is PTI too, the ribbon is from Michael's, flower is prima (?), and button from my stash.
A little view of the inside, since I thought that was cute too! :)

This is the card I gave her from my Mom! Base is PTI, pp is Cosmo Cricket, punched with that awesome border punch (fiskars)- actually I used both of the punches! Stitched them together, and added some crazy stitching. Ribbon is PTI, and the crochet flower- yep, ME! Button from my stash. The stamping is hard to see- I used a flower from a Rubber Soul set I just bought, and the letters are CTMH. I stamped the 'baby' in white snow, and then over stamped in spring moss (the original formulation). It's very soft & pretty in person, but doesn't show well in pics!

embossing birthdays

I had 3 birthday cards that I needed done this week- all for little people! I think you can guess their ages! :) I got out the cuttlebug folder & went to town! I used CM red cardstock & PTI pink blush cardstock. I highlighted the year with dimensional glaze, and since it didn't show much on the pink one, topped it off with prismapens. Some ribbon from my stash on the red cards, as well as nesties 'frames'. And the new eksuccess border punch really looked great on the '7' card!

The paper strip is from the paper stack I got in Poulsbo 'divine'. Button from my stash. And that crocheted flower? I made it. Yep. I know, I can't believe it either- but isn't it adorable? :)
I also did some loose stitching on this one, & PTI vintage tea around the edges.

That's it for now- better get them mailed!!! Thanks for stopping by!

Moxie classy & elegant

Well here's my shot at classy & elegant! Pictures don't do it justice (darn night photos!). Blue cardstock is PTI, as are fancy flourishes stamped in versamark. Snowflake embellishments are Memory Makers. 'Joy' is SU! in versamark. The snowflake stamp is old! Now a lot of my stamps are old, but this one says PSX 1988! I think it may have been one of my first stamps, and not used in eons! I used palette fresh snow & added a rhinestone to the middle- it's much prettier in real life! Stitched around the edges to finish it off!
Thanks for checking it out!
Here's a link to check out LOTS of classy & elegant work:

Moxie stamped

This is an IMPRESS image, as is all the cardstock. It's stamped with versamark ink, then carefully chalked in two colors. Dimensional glaze was used to adhere the red seed beads.
Thanks for stopping by!!!

Moxie clean & graphic

This is a Rubber Soul Art by Dave Brethauer image. Stamped in SU! old olive, colored with prisma pencils. I used dimensional glaze over the lights. The red paper is Creative Memories- punched with my brand new ek success embossed curve punch! The focal image is outlined with a white prisma pencil.

Thanks so much for looking ( and leaving me some love!)

I'm hoping the bird on top counts as cute-sy! :) The cardstock is from IMPRESS. Image by savvystamps, stamped in brilliance black & colored with prisma pencils. Ruby red liquid pearls are the 'ornaments'. Ribbon is PTI spring moss, buttons & embroidery thread from my stash.

Thanks for stopping by!

vintage Moxie!

ETA- I wasn't the winner of this challenge, but I did get mentioned for it by CATH EDVALSON!!! Pinch me!
Here's a vintage-looking card for Moxie Fab! It's on PTI mossy green cardstock, Cosmo Cricket 'believe' pp, a vintage postcard image that I sewed on, distressed the edges on & added doodlebug designs lily white sugar coating glitter to. An organza ribbon & button from my stash- twine is PTI.
Thanks for looking- hope you think it's Moxie FAB! :)
You can check out some of the other vintage goodness here:

grateful...

Here's another quickie card from Michael's $1 section! I stamped 'grateful' (old SU! stamp) with fresh snow ink onto ribbon from my stash. Sewed it on & added some Recollections pearls that I just got from Michaels.
I have to do a lot of thank yous for volunteer hairstylists that donate their time to Lions 4 kids ( a local resource necessities house in Bonney Lake, WA )- I'm responsible for getting them scheduled *read:cold calling local salons*- so I like to send them a thank you note!
Thanks for looking!

Quickie thank you

Well here's a little bit of a cheat! I bought the polka dot cards in a $1 pack at Micheals- but wanted to jazz it up a bit. Added the stamped sentiment (that costco-pack again!) in SU! close to cocoa stapled on with some brown MS twill behind it. Used some liquid adhesive to glam up some of the dots & the exclamation point with some glitter glass shards. Not sure how well that glitter mails, but it's the thought that counts, right?! ;)

For baby Kaidyn

My girlfriend is having a little girl soon- she's due Oct. 1st. Her baby shower was last weekend & I made her a totally snuggly blanket, some diapers with the prettiest ribbon trim (burp cloth, nose wipes) and an altered 'k' that matches her baby bedding pretty well!
The card is a white base with PTI purple layer, stamped with damask designs in snow white, with a layer of vellum over it. I layered it with nesties cut ovals stamped in SU! purple and the 'k' is cut with my cricut (base camp I think). The vellum was cut on the bottom with the fiskars punch & stitched on. The 'k' is on dimensionals and I used the PTI tea dyes so the edges would show against the purple paper.
The altered 'k' is from Michael's- mod podge DCWV posies glitter print paper (yes I did just go grab it to see what it was called!) The ribbon is from my stash- probably from Michael's too- and the button is from a jar that my mom just gave me- it was my Grandma's button jar & it was about 1/2 filled with random buttons. :)
I will be buying the damask designs for sure- I burrowed the set from my favorite enabler (thanks Cindy!)- and also mega mixed messages, which I used inside (BABY & LOVE)
Thanks for chicking it out!

Happy 7th birthday to Sydney & Emma

My nieces turned 7 yesterday. I can hardly believe it- I remember their birth 7 years ago like yesterday. I can't remember what I had for lunch. Funny the things my brain has prioritized.... :)
White cardstock base, PTI sweet blush with text backgrounds in versamark. Fancy flourish in stampology pink. Sentiment from mega mixed messages. The daisy paper the focal image is mounted on as well as the cupcake wrapper are from a pp pack I picked up at Rubber Soul in Poulsbo last week. The cupcake is the Karen Lockhart stamp I WON a while back- colored with prismacolor pencils. Tiny rhinestones, ribbon (possibly PTI) crazy stitched on. I like how the ribbon turned out- that was my first try at it- I'm thinking there will be more of that! Focal image cut out with nesties.
Thanks for looking!

sympathy card

I had several sympathy cards I needed to make, which is always so sad.... I used Creative memories pink mounting paper, stamped with PTI background text in PTI chamomile tea ink. The focal image is from SU! long stemmed-very old- stamped in PTI chai tea ink. It's mounted on provocraft paper & a little stitching. Ribbon is from Amuse. Two different border punches- both fiskars.
I think they turned out pretty & soft. Thanks for stopping by!

Welcome gift for Baby Aubri

My cousin had her 3rd baby girl March 22nd. All of the girls are 'A' names, so I thought this altered letter would work well, since they are likely sharing a room at some point! I wish I knew who the pp was by- it's really pretty! I used the little folder that came with the cuttlebug for the focal image. I didn't have any chipboard, so I used a cereal box! Hehe! I think I used acrylic paint for the pink & white, but it's been awhile.... added those cute tiny rhinestones for the wheel centers. The focal image is popped up on dimensionals. The green ribbon is PTI, all the other ribbon & buttons from my stash. I didn't have the swiss dot embossing folder yet when I made this card, so I'm looking at it wishing the white had those cute white embossed dots! Still pretty cute! Thanks for looking!!!
ETA- it's Anna Griffin paper- I looked for it when I was at Michael's and they still had some!

Karen Lockhart wicker (again!)

Well I loved that paper pieced chair so much that I had to do it again! This time I used a sketch from a card I loved on Jen del Muro's blog: http://iheart2stamp.com/2009/07/02/you-grow-girl/
I used the pp that I'd used last time too- I really loved it as well! It's stamped with SU! close to cocoa and colored with prisma pencils. I cut & embossed with nesties. I broke into my PTI ocean tides cardstock too- I'm pretty happy that I'm using not hoarding! Ha! The eyelets are memory makers. I made the flower with my cricut (george/basic shapes I think). I stamped one of the images from PTI's guidelines 2 in SU! really rust, and distressed the bottom layer with same ink. Crumpled 'em up a bit & added the brad from Joanns to the center. Popped it up on a dimensional. Look at me using my product!!! Hooray! Thanks for checking it out!!

mother's day card

This is the card I made for Mother's day for my sweet Mom! DP is provocraft, purple cardstock is PTI, ribbon from my stash. Stamp is a very old one from SU! stamped with brilliance & watercolored with SU! ink. Sentiment is from that set from Costco- wish I knew who it was! I cut & embossed with my rectangle nesties & popped it up with dimensionals. Did a little stitching too. My mom's fave flower is iris, so I was pleased with how this turned out!
Thanks so much for looking!

Mojo Monday 94

So I thought I'd try my hand at Mojo Monday! What the heck, right? I had a birthday card I needed to do, so why not use a sketch!
Cardstock is PTI, DP is K&Co. I got a huge set of stamps at Costco, and I can't remember who made them! I did stamp the image twice & pop the butterfly body up. It's stampology ink. I ran the green cardstock through a cuttlebug folder and the main image is cut & embossed with nesties. I stitched a little on the side & added fun fur. The flower is one from Joanns- it was a little too melon so I inked it up with the same ink as the focal image, but still a bit bright! I also added some tiny twinkles to the butterfly. A girl can never have too much bling!
Thanks for looking! :)

Wednesday, July 8, 2009

This was the birthday card I made for my bro-in-law (in May). I think the DP is provocraft. The stamps are from a really old SU! set. Green cardstock & base, button & jute from my stash. By the way, it is most difficult to thread jute through a button. mmhmmm.
I stamped with brilliance black, then watercolored the base of the packages & one package with ink (SU! close to cocoa & old olive I believe...)
Thanks for coming by!
