August 2013 PTI Blog Hop

So glad I could find time to play along with the hop this month!
The summer has been flying by & finding time for crafting has been a challenge!
Here's my take:
For the record, this would've been so fast if I had all those ink colors.
But I don't.
So I sat & tried to combine inks for a crazy amount of time to get close.
Crazy amount of time.
Lol.
The aqua mist & smokey shadow (sentiment) are PTI.
I love that I pulled the chevron stamps out, and the sentiment is from Butterfly dreams; vintage cream cardstock.
I do think it's fun though. :)
I might try it again with prismacolor ink.
Maybe.
If I can find colors that work quickly! Ha!
Here's the inspiration & sketch- which I LOVE!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Happy Hopping!

It's your day...

 I love that saying! :)
Of course, every day should be 'your day'!
I finally put the die I bought from ~amy~ to use- it's memory box.
The gorgeous paper is from Basicgrey's 'fiction' pad- it's heavenly!!
I tied a pretty bow with May Arts pink silk, and topped it with bittersweet burlap string.
Did you know there are lots of new colors of burlap string!
SQUEAL!
PTI cardstock, sentiment & SU! ink.
Totally inspired by Artful Delight's card sketch.
If you've made it this far I hope you'll scroll down to yesterday's post & check out the details for the AMAZING May Arts Grand Re-Opening Giveaway.
It's HUGE people.
Thanks so much for stopping by! :)

Ribbon Cutting Ceremony!

I hope you're enjoying the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony hop!
I made the cutest bicycle streamers after being inspired by this post- Thanks Virginia!!
Doesn't this smile say it all?
I've used the new hot pink woven chevron stripes, white curly/sparkling ribbon, (both of which hold their curl beautifully!), pink 3/8" satin ribbon, and pink/white 3/8" grosgrain stripe ribbon all tied onto a golf tee (see below!).

The ribbon wand was so fun to make- I pulled out a rainbow of ribbon & simply tied it onto a dowel I had already! LOVE!
Here's the ribbon I used:
WHEW!
But look at in action!!

Pretty self explanatory- golf tees & screw eyes!

Now you know the Ribbon Lady loves prizes- but this one takes the CAKE!!!

Splash of color!

May Arts & Splash of Color have a new partnership!
This month the focus is eyelet & twinkling h2o's!
Head over to see what the ribbonistas came up with & leave a comment for your chance to win a roll of each eyelet & $20 from luminarte products!
(Luminarte products shown are an example only)

I started with painting each strip a color from the basic rainbow set:

Isn't that rainbow delish?

Next I added each color to a piece of cardstock with adhesive.

Once I had all the pieces adhered I trimmed off the excess!

See the finished project at May Arts! Don't forget to leave a comment for a chance at some delish ribbon & luminarte products! :)

May Arts & Lawn Fawn!

Lawn Fawn & May Arts are always such a fun combination!
I've got a couple of cards to share today- first off, a birthday card!
I started with Dewey Decimal paper, and embossed a birthday cake from year one in white powder.
I used teal 5/8" twill, topped it with white mini pom poms, and tied it up with light blue mini cording!
Next I've got a fun 'just because' card!
This time I used paper from the bright side collection. I cut a polaroid with the say cheese die, then stamped a bird from fly free on vellum. The sentiment is also from fly free.
I layered two pieces 5/8" satin/scallop edge ribbon in olive on the bottom portion of the polaroid opening. I tied a simple bow in the new yellow burlap for a fun pop! love!
For another fun card featuring May Arts & Lawn Fawn, check out this post! :)
You probably can guess that there are prizes to be had when these two great companies team up!
You're RIGHT!

Make sure you leave comments on each post during the week for your chance to win:
3 Spools of Ribbon – Your Choice!
and
A Lawn Fawn stamp and die set of your choice!
Here's the schedule for the week!!! :)

Happy Birthday Erin: 2013 edition!

Today is Erin's birthday, a very special friend! As has become a tradition, Karen & I have joined forces to celebrate!
Since we know Erin loves May Arts & challenges, we decided to use that as our guide!
We chose to play in the Lawnscaping challenge; I pulled out bannerific, swimsuit season and the dewey decimal patterned paper from Lawn Fawn!
I also used ribbon from May Arts- a burlap (the one I used isn't currently in the catalog, but this one would be similar!) on top of 1.5" red silky/crush! Red & burlap are both in honor of Erin!

The background was created by misting a Dreamweaver Stencil.
I kept the card very literal- the circle from the sketch was created with my sewing machine.

Make sure you stop by Erin's to wish her a happy birthday & Karen's blog to see her birthday celebration for Erin!
The Ribbon Lady wanted to play along too- so be sure you stop by the May Arts blog for a special opportunity (you know how the Ribbon Lady loves a giveaway- just sayin'!)
:D
Happy Birthday, Erin!

And because Erin is the master of combining challenges, I'll add this one to the current Ribbon Carousel Challenge where we're to use patriotic colors! :)

May Arts + LYB + Xyron!

Welcome to Day 3 of the hop! I hope you've been stopping by all the blogs for inspiration (and don't forget about the giveaway(s)!!!)
I've got a couple of really fun cards to share!

I'm in love with this LYB Poppy line! So bright, happy & trendy!
I cut the 'Celebrate' with my cricut and then added glitter with the awesome Xyron Create A Sticker! I ran it through to put the adhesive on the front first & applied the glitter, then ran it through a second time to make my glitter embellie a sticker! FAB!

I've used a couple different papers & stickers for this card. And I layered the new 5/8" woven chevron in white (gah!) over 2 layers of the 5/8" sheer ruffle edge in orange. I am loving the effect & will be sure to put it to use again soon!

 Next up!

A different pattern from the Poppy line, anchored with the same great chevron pattern at top & bottom that I used on the last card!
Another sticker from the line- and don't you LOVE that CORK flower pin? I used a Xyron 3/16" dot adhesive to apply aqua glitter!
Can you tell I love that 5/8" sheer ruffle? I used the turquoise this time! I tied some bittersweet burlap string around that turquoise bow- yum!

I've had so much fun pairing these 3 awesome companies together- May Arts ribbons complement the LYB Poppy Line wonderfully- and the Xyron products stick them all together! (Lol!!! I'm cracking myself up!)
Ok, so I know you picked up on the *prize* alert above!
Make sure you stop by all the participants & leave a comment- one lucky commenter will win
THREE SPOOLS of ribbon from May Arts!

But wait! There's more!
Be sure to stop by again on Friday to check out the details of the GRAND PRIZE that will run over the weekend!
You could win:
