March 2014 PTI Blog Hop

This month we had a beautiful inspiration photo- aqua & yellow & happy spring all rolled into one.
I loved it & couldn't wait to create something.
But wait I did!
This is such a crazy time of year for us- but I am sneaking a fun card into the hop!
I've used a PTI tag die on DCWV paper, as well as the year of flowers stamp & die of the daffodil.

Some yellow polka dots in the background.

I'm sure to find a ton of inspiration when hopping- hope to get some in tonight!!
Happy Hopping!

MIM #205: Confetti Cluster Stamping

This week the MIM challenge was to use those tiny stamps within an image- or cluster confetti stamp them. I die cut a butterfly from butterfly dreams to use as a stencil. most are from filled with joy- one of the tiny flowers is from wreath for all seasons.

I like the look of this technique, although I'm not so sure about the colors I used.

May Arts + Epiphany Crafts!

May Arts & Epiphany Crafts have teamed up for a blog hop!
I was given the Shape Studio Tool Flower 25 to work with- here's what I came up with:

I used fabric stiffener on 1.25" silk ribbon in rose, then punched it with the tool & added the matching epoxy shape!
I looped the new 3/8" multi-size beaded string in ivory & tied them up with the 1/4" silk in robin's egg blue ribbon.

I also used the punch to cut some contact paper to use as a mask on the 2" burlap cotton blend in natural. I spritzed it with Memory Mist Spray in Lavender Tea.

When it was dry I attached the ribbon to a card panel & added the matching epoxy pieces.

I love how these turned out- the epoxy shapes add a lot of wow to each project!

There will be 2 sets of prizes up for grabs consisting of both companies goods!
Comment to win- Good luck!

MIM #204: Watercolor Smooshing

Sneaking a post in on Sunday night again!
This week the challenge was to create a watercolor 'smooshed' background. I'd been wanting to try this, so not sure why it took me all week.
I do know.
Science Fair.
*sigh*
We survived- and even turned it in on Friday (because I'm trying to teach my daughter to NOT be a procrastinator!) and it's not due until tomorrow.
yay!
So here's what I created:

First time I've inked up Filled With Joy. That's embarrassing!
Inks are Fresh ink & gold delicata.
A few May Arts silk ribbon tabs- 3 robin's egg 1/4" tabs on top of a teal 1.25" tab.

Boo to the weekend being over!
Have a great week!

May Arts New Release Hop

I am showcasing the new 2.5" open weave burlap net- and it is so fun!!

For my first project I used the net across a cardstock panel & wove 1.25" white silk through it. This is a wired ribbon so it made it easy to wrap around the cardstock.

Next I wrapped it around a bottle for a pretty way to gift a bottle of wine. I used matching burlap string to tie up the ends & added an Artful Accent kraft tag. This would be fun to layer as well, but I wanted to show how great it looks on its own!

I love how this ribbon adds so much texture to a gift bag!

Last up I used it as a mask & spritzed an Artful Accent kraft tag with ink. I topped it with a stamped layer of vellum so that the pattern would still show, then folded a piece of the 2.5" open weave burlap net in half & machine sewed it in place with the vellum layer. I finished the tag off with more 1.25" white silk & natural burlap string.

As you can see, I really enjoyed working with this new ribbon!
