PTI April 2016 Blog Hop

This month the hop inspiration was the photo by Chad Hagen at the bottom of my post. Quite graphic- not my go to style, but I did enjoy the process & rather like the outcome!

I used spellbinders to create my circle stencils and then ink blended away!
My die cut sentiment is stacked- I like the detail that adds.
Thanks for stopping by- happy hopping!

MIM #246: Faux Brush Lettering

The challenge this week was to add detail to scripty-font to create a faux lettering look.
Here's what I came up with:

I put my zig clean color markers to work! I like how it turned out, but can appreciate needing more practice! Dear Lizzy patterned paper for my base.
Sorry for the poor lighting! It's past my bedtime so a phone pic has to do it tonight!

MIM #245: Color Isolation

This week the MIM Challenge was to use color isolation. Hadley has some thank you's to get out so I used this technique to get some made!

You really have to look to see the background stamping, but the subtlety of it is quite pretty! I used versamark ink after trying some chamomile tea and deciding it was darker than I wanted for this card.

MIM #244: Score Lines

This week the challenge was to add score lines for Make It Monday- here's what I came up with:

Smooshed some ink for the background then used the new graceful greetings dies with glitter cardstock.
Some flowers from the same set & colors as the smooshing were also added- and I tried to offset the die cut words a bit so that the same words stamped in gold would show a bit.

Score lines are at the top & bottom, but difficult to see in the pics!
Some 1/4" pink silk finish it off!

We celebrated Had's 11th birthday- how is that possible?
She is a really great girl- brings so much joy to all around her!

Family birthday party this year- and she didn't have a particular theme, but she has been in to unicorns lately- so that's what happened on her cake top!

Ribbon Resource: ASD Hop- Shine Brightly! #LIUB

The Ribbonistas are hopping today to celebrate World Autism Awareness Day!
Along the theme of 'Lighting it up Blue', I've created this fun card!

This silhouette cut file was used- I used the outline as a mask to ink the bulb in, then the top layer I cut in white vinyl.
I added the 1.5" turquoise woven houndstooth to the base of the light (cut to size) and a bow of white wired string along the side.
Lawn Fawn stamps for the sentiment!

Now, of course, there is a giveaway for you too.  The prize up for grabs is: 3 – 5 yard rolls of blue ribbon: winner’s choice! Head over to The Ribbon Resource to enter!

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you find a way to #LIUB
