Happy Halloween! (and still Diggin' on Damask!)

Well you might have guessed I'd have another entry for Diggin on Damask at Moxie Fab World- and here it is!

I used the die from the last card here- can't get enough of that gorgeous flocked Lush paper (and big yay for me for cutting into it!!)

PTI vintage cream cardstock, tree trimming trio sentiment, tree die. Versafine black ink. The cream satin is from my stash. I ran a strip of glue arts ribbon adhesive & ruffled the ribbon as I stuck it down. Then ran another line of the ribbon adhesive to attach the May Arts black velvet ric rac- I thought it was a nice tie in with the flocking on the paper. I cut the sentiment panel with a spellbinders label die.
And since today is Halloween, I'll share a pic of my little one in costume! Isn't she as pretty as a peacock?
Thanks so much for stopping by- check out the other gorgeous damask at Moxie Fab World!
And since you can enter wee memories twice- I think I'll add this there too! :)

Diggin on Damask

The current challenge at Moxie Fab world is using damask- since I LOVE damask, I had to play!!! :)
Here's my first go:

PTI vintage cream base, ocean tides cardstock, text impression plate, tree die. Sentiment is Hero Arts. Versafine black ink, black paper from my stasth (ie it's so old I can't tell you where it's from!) The rest is LUSH. Yummo, right?! Lush is the name of the line from My Mind's Eye.

That paper is FLOCKED in black! I've got several views because I want you to see how amazing that paper is!!! That pretty ribbon is also from the MME Lush line.

And so is the bling! :)

I cut the tree out of the damask paper then layered it on top of the ocean tides- then layered both of those on top of the black. I think the overall effect is very elegant- and I wanted a non-traditional color scheme. What do you think? I'd love to hear!! Head over to Moxie Fab World to see the other entries!
Wee Memories challenge is 'anything goes' so I'll add this there too! :)

Happy Hatch-a-versary Pam!!!

My very funny & talented friend, Pam, is having an 'anything chick' blog hop- chicks, birds, feathers, etc qualify! :)
Luckily my PTI order came with this fun new set!

And do you see that awesome Baker's twine? Thank you, Karen!!!! I love it!! And threaded through the Jenni Bowlin button it looks yummy!

I don't own any 'nest' stamps- so I made one with May Arts brown burlap string! The bird & egg really do show up better in person... The leaves are stamped in chai tea ink- since this is a baby card that will be given during fall/winter the natural inclination to make the tree full of green leaves had to be overcome!

It doesn't show well, but I also stamped the leaves on the red scalloped strip under the focal panel. And do you see the aqua mist vintage label stamp on the sentiment tag? It makes me happy!
So head over to Pam's blog- I promise you'll love her work & she'll crack you up! :)
Thanks so much for stopping by- I'd love to know what you think! (and cross your fingers for me- Pam's got an awesome prize for some lucky chick!)

Spider Tea Towel!

Head over to May Arts blog to see how easy it is to create this!! :)

And guess what!!?!

Ok, so you can probably guess.... :) It was for this card! So fun!!!
And if you haven't 'liked' May Arts on Facebook, what are you waiting for? Head over & comment for a chance to win THIS:
YUM!!!

October PTI blog hop & EBTKS!

This month's hop was to celebrate a non-Christmas holiday....

Using the EBTKS sketch, I came up with this (I missed the cutoff for EBTKS!):

In celebration on the winter solstice :)
The night pics make it very hard to see several details... such as: there's a label frame embossed into the spring rain base framing the wreath. I used the border stamp from embellishments in chai tea to make the lines in the sketch & went over them with the dotted border from this year's anniversary set in fresh snow. Versafine brown, PTI pure poppy & gems from my stash.

Inked the edges with chamomile tea too! :) Thanks for stopping by & happy hopping!

OTWC #30- Moxie pleated!

I was happy to be able to get another card done for the Moxie perfectly placed pleats challenge! This time I used the OTWC challenge colors.... ok, in my head it was the avacado green....

(again with the night photos- sorry!) White PTI cardstock base & ripe avacado cardstock pleat. Sentiment is from the embellishments set- stamped with versafine brown & machine stitched in place.

How cool is that embossed felt? I think I picked it up at Joanns. I needed to make a thank you card for my husband to send- so wanted a masculine feel to it. I realize the pleats knock that factor down a bit! *wink*

I think it has an overall masculine feel to it.... Check out what's cookin' this week at OTWC & you've got one more day to pleat some paper!
Thanks so much for stopping by! I'd love to hear your thoughts!!

Embellish vintage color- Moxie style

I wanted to incorporate the Embellish challenge with some Moxie fab paper pleating. Seemed to be a good match, right? I will be honest- yellow is a challenge for me! But I stuck with it & rather like the outcome.

I had just received the terracotta tile cardstock. Also- that PTI border die is new- just right for vintage, no? I bought that book last summer for the express purpose of crafting with it- and it still gave me great pain to tear a page out! The copyright is 1907. The back is broken, but still....

I used my giga guidelines in SU! really rust on top of the pleated bookprint & added some SU! old olive for a little more aging & green tie in. The seam binding is hand dyed (by me!). I've had that yellow hydrangea bloom in my stash for quite some time. Pretty sure it's from Michaels, but not sure on the manufacturer.
(I replaced 2 of the pics- but this one is still a night shot- YOW.)
Head over to Moxie fab & Embellish to see what everyone else has done! I'm also adding this one to Betsy Veldman's vintage challenge- I'd say a book that old qualifies!! :)
Thanks so much for stopping by- I'd love to hear your thoughts (besides buy a light tent- this I already know!) :)

Wee Memories #27

Wee Memories challenge this week was a card for a celebration! I think a baby boy is a great reason to celebrate! :)

PTI vintage cream cardstock, scattered showers, text, & smokey shadow & tea dye inks. Versafine black, inkadinkadoo type, tattered angels mists, october afternoon pp & hand dyed (by me) seam binding.
And here's my beautiful friend!

We had a lot of fun a few weeks ago taking some pics- this was a fave....
Thanks so much for stopping by- always love hearing what you think! :)

Butterfly shimmer

I wish you could see the shimmer on this. In person it's lovely!

Can you see it any better here? Maybe if you click on it. Not sure. This is all kinds of tattered angels. Masks, stamps, mist. YUM. The sentiment is from My Favorite things, and the cardstock is PTI.
What do you think?

OTWC 28

So here's my card for OTWC #28. Yes, entirely too late, but I'd made it, so thought I may as well show you! :)

Unfortunately, I need several sympathy cards- so here's one. PTI white cardstock, through the trees stamps. Versafine sepia, versamark, white embossing powder. MS twill, fiskars border punch.

We also went to the pumpkin patch this week- always fun, although my camera battery died while we were there, so that cut the photo op short!

Isn't this the cutest calf you've ever seen?

Had played a few games & bounced in the bounce house. Remember when going to the pumpkin patch JUST meant getting a pumpkin?

Thanks so much for stopping by- and for those of you that ALSO stopped by the May Arts blog- THANK YOU!!! You all rock, and I appreciate it!!!
