April 2011 PTI blog hop

This month the challenge was to make a masculine card.

I've been going CAS lately, so stuck with it here. Embossed felt (from Joanns) is die cut & stamped with fillable frames #8 & attached to hawaiian shores cardstock.

Masculine? I hope masculine enough, it's going to my brother-in-law next week! :D

Thanks for stopping by & have fun hopping!

Embellish Easter Card

Here's my card for the Embellish challenge! The color board is below, and the additional element was to add crochet trim!

I pulled out my May Arts crochet & sprayed it with glimmer mist to get the gold-ish color! I also put my May Arts 3/16" grosgrain stripes to work! I used the Wilson Designs bunny & frame image- isn't it adorable? (I won this set- thanks Kim & Papercrafts!)

Here's the beautiful inspiration!

And I think these are nice bright colors, and I'm sending this as an Easter card, so I'll add it to OTWC's challenge too! :)

I've got to get this in the mail today!!!! Thanks so much for stopping by! I'd love to hear what you think! :)

OH! And Happy Easter, Easter Bunny! Bach! Bach!

Moxie Fab Gift Wrap Challenge

Last post today! I KNOW! THREE in one day! Holy toledo! I'd love it if you checked them all out! :)
This one is for Cath's gift wrap challenge- in honor of 350 cards & gifts week! I wrapped up the set of cards I'd made for Hadley's teacher & delivered them today!
I used simple tissue for the wrap, but added vintage book print & a doily that I stamped to somewhat coordinate with the gift. Tied it up with some May Arts sheer pink ribbon!

I think it turned out pretty cute! :)
Head over to Moxie Fab World to see the other FAB gift wraps!

Moxie Card set challenge

Cath has a ton of Moxie Fab challenges going in honor of 350 Cards & Gifts week!
I made this set of cards for Hadley's teacher- her birthday is tomorrow!

And then I packaged them all up!

I used PTI places please again (yes, the card set matches her birthday card!). Sentiments are from round & round & through the trees. I also used May Arts silk ribbon on the cards, and 5/8" satin pleats to embellish the box.
I like to keep cards that I'm giving as gifts fairly flat so that extra postage isn't necessary!

Thank you, Erin, for the scallop oval!
So that's my entry for the card set challenge at Moxie Fab world- go check out the other fab sets!
Thanks so much for stopping by! I'd love to hear what you think!

Make It Monday #11

The challenge this week was to use your dies to emboss.
Here's my take:

I used 'places please' die & stamps, as well as the sentiment from 'round & round'.

I used my exacto knife to make a slit for my May Arts silk ribbon.

Tough to get a great pic of the embossing- but I think this one gives you the best view!

Don't forget to stop by May Arts blog for a chance at the contents of a scrap-can full of ribbon!

Not royal...

I don't have anything new to show you today, so I thought I'd show you one of the cards I submitted for Stamping Royalty!

I made this one back in February- inspired by one of Cath's Tuesday Triggers. I liked it, and didn't share it at the time, so thought I'd give the royalty contest a try.

No luck.

I still like it.

:)

It was a surprise...

This year Hadley really wanted a surprise birthday party! I thought that was such a funny request for a soon to be 6 yr old! We always have family birthday parties, and I knew she really wanted one with her friends & SIX seemed like a good age for a friend party!

I made favor bags, so I'll add these to the Moxie gift wrap challenge!

I used more of that Girls' paperie paper & stamped each girls' initial with CTMH stamps.

Inside were some random goodies, as well as a headband I'd made & these flowers:

I used PTI's button set & dies & packaged them in clear cello bags- so I'll add these to the Moxie little gifts challenge! that's it for the craftiness- the rest of this post is about the surprise!

She went for a date with her Daddy so I could get to the skating rink & set up-

She was VERY surprised- of course my pics are blurry- but she had a huge smile when she realized what was going on!

And we had a great afternoon of skating with her cousins & several great friends!

She even loved being in the spotlight for the birthday song & the hokey pokey!!!

So glad we could give you this fun surprise, Hadley! We love you to bits!

Embellished with decorative trim

There is a color challenge at Embellish this week. with the added challenge of using decorative trim. I love the colors & the inspiration photo is lovely. Here's my take:

PTI cardstock- spring moss? chartreuse? I stamped images from Life in versamark, spring moss, chai, fresh snow & SU! old olive. I distressed the focal panel & then layered it onto the same color cardstock base. There's an avacado strip on the left side of the focal panel.

The flower I made using fabric & spellbinders. The button is die cut from a coaster & debossed with a PTI text plate. I inked it with old olive & chai.

The trim is May Arts crochet & satin leaves....

Here's the inspiration:

Thanks so much for stopping by- I'd love to hear what you think! (and for the record, blogger is adding wonky spaces to my posts- it's not me!!)

Jay Gee's with a little Moxie

Remember I said I had another card for the pretty Jay Gee's challenge? Couldn't be much more literal than this one!
I used Practicing Creativity's stamp set, paper pieced with PTI ocean tides (which I used versamark & PTI text on) & vintage text. Any coloring is with prisma pencils.

You can see I decided to add a pearl to a couple of the flowers, and the oval shadow is hard to see in the pic, but it's stamped with tea dye ink- chamomile or chai, I can't remember for sure which.

May Arts silk ribbon.

And I added a little bookmark as a small gift when I sent this card off- so I'll also add it to the Moxie Fab little gifts challenge!

I used spellbinders to die cut the felt, sewed on a button & hot-glued the two pieces together with a paperclip in the middle.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I'd love to hear what you think! :)

A hoot of a birthday!

I was one lucky girl a couple of weeks ago & won the whole release & a catalog from Lawn Fawn!!! Thank you, KellyMarie!!! So I inked up some stamps from Critters in the Forest for this birthday card!

I colored them with prisma pencils & mineral spirits & cut them out. the focal panel is a tim holtz embossing folder on cream (thanks Erin!) and the bottom I punched 1 3/4" circles & embossed them with the PTI woodgrain plate. I wrapped the panel with cream & brown May Arts twine. I put it all together on a kraft base.

I think it turned out pretty cute- and just right for a little boy that just turned 6! Don't forget to head over to May Arts- they'll be picking a winner tomorrow of some more great goodies!!!

And since twine is the challenge at wee memories this week- I'll play along!
