Paper Sweeties Inspiration Challenge- March 2016

Isn't this a fun inspiration?
Here's what I came up with:

I used the Make Today Beautiful stamp set with Zig Markers on patterned paper (Authentique) to capture the colors in the inspiraton. I've heat embossed the image with clear powder before coloring.
I also stamped two flowers on the same paper to be able to pop them up a bit.
Still getting the hang of the markers but love the idea of these pretty blue flowers!

Hope you make today beautiful! Here's the rest of the team for more inspiration!
This challenge is open all month- I hope you can join in! Head over to check out the details!

MIM #240: Watercolor Resist

This week the challenge at PTI was to use rubber cement to create a watercolor resist.
Here is what I came up with:

I used 3 colors of watercolor then used Wonderful Words: Birthday to  die cut and stamp the sentiment. A little black burlap string finishes it off!

February 2016 PTI Blog Hop

This month PTI gave us a beautiful inspiration photo for the hop- see below.
Here's what I came up with:

Sweet blush cardstock is embossed with a rectangle spellbinder die. I used the dies (on spring green cardstock) & stamps from Meadow Greens for the fern & sentiment.
Pretty Pink Posh Sequins.
I've used 2 rows of the 5/8" satin pleat ribbon in pink then topped it with 5/8" faux suede ruffle edged ribbon in celery green. I added a 2.5" pink sheer frayed flower to finish it off!

I can't wait to see what everyone has created!

MIM #239: Customizing Patterned Paper

This week the challenge at PTI was to customize patterned paper.
Here's what I came up with:

I used this very old, but still cute, Cosmo Cricket paper & added white heat embossed flowers from the Filled with Joy set & the fun 'happy' banner my friend Erin sent me! I also added some stickles to the flower centers- hard to see in the pics though!

We are just wrapping up mid-winter break- I think I honestly needed it at least as much as my daughter did! The Snow God smiled Friday night and gave us fresh snow for Saturday- I'm sure hoping it wasn't our last day this season, but it was a great one!
I've spent a good part of today converting to the Jennifer McGuire stamp storage system- I'm pretty sure I'm going to  love it, but wow- it's taking longer than I'd expected!!
Anybody else use that system? What do you think? Tips?

Create Along With Us February 2016

I'm playing in PTI's Create Along With Us & was inspired by Dawn's card (see below)!
I used Mendhi Medallions & Zig Markers over white heat embossing.
I really love how this one turned out!

Here's Dawn's card:

PTI Sampler Square Challenge

Playing along with the sampler square challenge at PTI!
1.5" squares all altered in a different way. Click on the images to see the detail better :)
There's dry embossing, stamp kissing, inked stencil, stamped, zig ink/smooshed, versamark/perfect pearl, spray ink, heat emboss/resist, gold embossing paste.
whew!

PTI: Alphabet Challenge + Color Recipe Cards

Playing along with the Alphabet Challenge (SHE- stitching, heat emboss, emboss resist)
as well as using my Zig Markers to attempt to put the color recipe card by Laurie Wilson to work.
Smooshed the two pinks together over the clear embossed images. The yellow is in the center & a bit around the upper left edge, and the green is in the sentiment.
Machine stitched top & bottom.

PPP: Valentine Challenge

I made a couple of cute matchbook Valentine's for my daughter & her sweet friend that spent the night last night!
I was inspired by Lisa's heart with flowers at Pretty Pink Posh's Valentine Challenge.

My white cardstock heart has  self adhesive pink rosettes for the flowers- quickly becoming a favorite!- and some Sweetheart Mix Sequins!
I covered the staples on the left book with 3/8 pink velvet and the one on the right is covered in 3/8" double-faced satin in rose.
The patterned paper is quite old- by Heather Bailey- thought it was perfect for the occasion!
And there's a yummy treat inside!

MIM #238: Valentine Ombre Stamping

Melissa Phillips made the prettiest ombre Valentine & this week it is the challenge for Make it Monday.
Here's what I came up with for the challenge:

I pulled out Banner Builders & my gelatos- using the same technique Melissa showed in her video. I stamped the heart from Tag-Its #11 on each pennant, and finished each with a Pretty Pink Posh Sweetheart mix sequin.
The sentiment is stamped in sweet blush in the lower left corner- very subtle & pretty. The strings the pennants hang from are stamped with chai ink.

Love the sequin banner Joni made!

PTI Day 3: Grab & Craft

PTI gave a challenge to set the timer for 5 minutes, grab & craft!
Can you tell what is on my table?
I've been making a few Valentines and you can tell from what I grabbed:

I stamped on my PTI tag a sentiment & row of hearts from an old 'Tag-It' set.
I attached that to my patterned paper (again, it was out, so I grabbed it- not sure who it is by!)- then added the lovely white adhesive rosettes- so sweet and FAST!
I tied some red burlap string on, added a few sequins & DONE!
It's unlikely it was 5 minutes, but it was fast & I had fun!
