November 2014 PTI Blog Hop- take 2

Another quick card for the SNOW themed PTI hop!

This is so shimmery in person- and the snowflakes are outlined with prisma pencil- I love how they look!
Happy Hopping!

November 2014 PTI Blog Hop

The 25th already?
Glad I remembered last night so that I could make a snow-themed card for this month's hop!

I really love this set- I've inked it with Vintage Cream ink- hard to see, but I also stamped snowflakes on the back layer.
The window was created with a spellbinder's snowflake die! Lot's of mica snowflakes obscure the stamped ones!
Red 1/4" sheer May Arts packs a punch :)

Hoping to get to hop tonight in between prepping my little bit for the classroom feast in Hadley's class & getting prepped for Thanksgiving here!!
Excited to see all  the snow inspired projects!

MIM #189: Impression Line Watercoloring

This week the challenge was to use a die to create an impression & watercolor within the impression.
I really like how it looks!

I used twinkling H20's to color my impression & silver delicata for the stamped portion.
I also used a Spellbinder's snowflake die to cut some vellum & May Arts 1/4" sheer white ribbon.

I'm kind of in denial that it's Thanksgiving week! This year feels like the fastest ever!
Thanks for stopping by!

May Arts: Kids Crafts

Welcome to my kids craft post!
Hadley and I thought it would be fun to make birdseed ornaments for gifts this year. We found this post and used the recipe to make our own!

Cookie cutters work great but I have very few of those so we made most of ours in a muffin pan.
Straws were pushed into each ornament to hold a space to put our ribbon through.
After they had set up we used 5/8" red cotton stripe ribbon to hang our ornaments.
For reference, the recipe from the linked post made a full pan of 'muffins' as well as 2 cookie cutter ornaments.

Since we used a ribbon wider than our hole we used silver string/metallic ribbon as our threader.

Worked like a charm!

These were really fun to make & didn't take too long! I think we will make another batch up for more gifts!

There are even directions for making a box on the blog we found the recipe- so I used some Core'dinations to whip up a quick box, tying it with that same cotton/stripe ribbon. I added some holly leaves because they always make holiday gifts look festive!

A bit of the new kraft raffia for padding inside!

Lots of Kids Crafts inspiration to be found at the blogs below!

May Arts + Core'dinations!

It's a fun week of May Arts & Core'dinations teaming up for a blog hop!

I've got a few projects to share:

I made this cute tag with Core'dinations whitewashed paper- it's dry embossed with a Cuttlebug snowflake folder.
May Arts 1.5" snowflake is topped with a satin cutout snowflake.
Beautiful light blue silk ribbon is accented with silver/white Baker's twine. Love how wintry this feels!

Another snowflake! This one uses the kraft Core'dinations paper and is embossed with a Dreamweaver stencil snowflake.

More kraft Core'dinations paper! This one is embossed with a Dreamweaver damask stencil.
I used the white adhesive fleur-de-lis scroll ribbon on top of the teal 1.5" silk. Spray ink was used to alter the color- I love that it ties in so well with the exposed kraft.

Kraft Core'dinations & Dreamweaver stencil.
I folded the 1.5" gold metallic ribbon in half to tie around the focal panel so that it wouldn't cover too much of the cool paper, but also have a tie with a lot of wow. Kraft raffia gives a surprise texture!

That's it for me today!

Here's the hop order- be sure to see all the inspiration- and head to the May Arts blog to see the fabulous prize up for grabs!

MIM #187: Partial Die-cuts

This week the challenge at PTI was to use partial die-cuts. Melissa always has the sweetest projects so I'm glad I could find time to play along!

I used the PTI tag & joy dies, as well as a spellbinders snowflake die. Cardstock is Core'dinations; snowflake is cut from vellum.
I'm definitely making more of these- they will make a perfect Secret Santa gift!

May Arts 'Artful Accents': Kraft Banner

I've got a fun banner to share today: Let it SNOW!
We are hoping for a great ski season, so we will be chanting this soon enough ;)
I used the new Artful Accents Kraft Banner for my base.
First I dry embossed with a cuttlebug snow folder.

After that came the layers of ribbon!
Topped with Letters cut using the 'opposites attract' cartridge & my Cricut.
The paper for the letters is DCWV textured paper & they are misted with Tsukineko 'frost' spray.

I also used a grommet to add my ribbon for tying!

For the giveaway:
2 winners of their choice of 1 Artful Accent.

MIM #186: Partial Die Stamping

The Make It Monday Challenge this week was to use partial die stamping.
I broke out my grateful die & my 'counting my blessings stamps' for the sentiment. The fern stamped on the die is from 'meadow greens'.

The patterned paper is from a new DCWV stack; bittersweet burlap string.

I really like the way this technique looks- will have to do it again soon! :D
My sweet girl was a jellyfish again this year- love that I can see her clearly even when it's totally dark!

We added the eyelashes & "sea" eye makeup. She looks adorable- but her daddy didn't care for her looking so grown up!
