MIM #209: White on White Die Cuts With a Pop of Color

This week the challenge was to use white on white die cuts & add a pop of color/dimension.

I used Just the Ticket set/die. I really like this technique!

April 2015 PTI Blog Hop

This month the challenge is to use navy & pink- I seem to use nothing but lately!
My friend Cindy was sweet enough to add Graceful Greetings to her cart for me this month :)
I love this set so much- and used nearly all of the images the first time I opened it! yay!!!

I knew I wanted stripes so I dug through my paper & found dots & stripes from Echo Park to be just what I had in mind. That is a fun pack & not sure why I haven't used it all up before now!!
I love that a single stamp can make such a pretty statement!

I did add some metallic gold string- couldn't resist! I think these may still be standard mail rate!
The ink is SU! & Delicata gold. Really pretty together in person!

I am looking forward to seeing all the pretty inspiration!

That concludes my hop entries- but had to post some of the pics from Hadley's birthday-
TEN!
whoa.
seriously!!
We had a nautical themed party (navy & pink!)- or I should say parties! We had a cousin sleepover followed by family party & the next weekend was friend sleepover! Six 10 yr old girls!
Hadley told me today the reason nobody sleeps at a sleepover is because that's what the name says- you don't sleep until it's over. That's pretty accurate!
I sure love that sweet girl.

Now here I have to say that I am not a party planner. We don't do a lot of hosting at all that isn't family. That said, Hadley & I worked together to come up with some fun details! I also got to know my silhouette pretty well :D

Those pretzel sticks are pretty fun to make- and you can see my labels below are on PTI tag dies!

One of the activities was for the girls to create the canvases pictured below. Using my silhouette to create the stencil it went pretty smooth- even when there were 6 artists!
The anchor banner & Hadley's canvases will all be in her room- she is patiently waiting for me to paint the hunter green wall that was that color when we moved in.
I'm not going to admit how long ago that was!

If you made it through the party pics too- wow! :D

May Arts Ribbon Baby Hop

The Ribbonistas are sharing some Ribbon-y ideas for baby!

I've created a burp cloth- prettier than many that can be purchased- and made with lots of love!
I cut my fabric the length & width of the center panel of a washed cloth diaper, I turned 1/2" of fabric under on both sides & top/bottom & machine sewed it in place.

I used May Arts 3/8" velvet woven ribbon in pink to trim each side- so pretty & soft!

For gift giving, I folded the burp cloth up with the fabric showing & tied it up with 3/8" double faced satin in pink!

I hope you enjoy all of the sweet baby inspiration!
Stop by all of the Ribbonistas listed below- and the May Arts blog
Rumor has it there's a prize- wouldn't you love a chance to pick a spool from the May Arts baby section?

MIM #207: Double Partial Die Cutting

Quick post tonight to play along with MIM.
I've used spellbinder dies & put Enjoy the Ride stamps to use- been a long time since I pulled that set out! Created a sunset with ink blended on the background.
I did not pop my front panel up. It took me an insane amount of time to get it cut clean & by then I didn't have the steam left to cut teeny tiny bits of dimensional adhesive.

It's been a week of chaos- my baby turned TEN.
WHAT?
Pics on that to come!
For now, wishing everyone a very Happy Easter!

Autism Awareness Day 2015

Today is Autism Awareness Day!
The May Arts Team likes to show our support for this day- head over to the blog to see what everyone's made.

I've created a card using many of the symbols: blue, the puzzle piece & part of the 'light it up blue' saying.
I die cut a tag from DCWV paper. Using a puzzle piece as a mask I sprayed imagine craft Bahama Blue irResistible texture spray & set it aside to dry.
Once dry, I ran 1.5" faux linen in navy through the tag & tied it off with 1/8" curly sparkly ribbon in royal blue.

Stamped my sentiment on the card base using Lawn Fawn's Sally's ABCs.

Attached my tag & done!
Thanks so much for stopping by today- don't forget to wear blue- let's light it up blue in support!

Now, of course, there is a giveaway for you too:
3 prizes of 1 spool each from our “blue” ribbons – winner’s choice!
That’s 3 chances to win!  What do you have to do to win? Head over to the May Arts blog & check out all the projects- post a comment as you visit each blog.  The Ribbon Lady will announce the winners on the May Arts blog on Monday, April 6th.
