December 2015 PTI Blog Hop

Time for the PTI hop
Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! We sure did here!
I loved the inspiration pic- here's what I came up with:

I heat embossed the stamped image, die cut with a spellbinders die & then traced the circle with a die & white pen.
I added olive satin leaves & red liquid pearls.
The card panel is embossed with the woodgrain plate.

I'm hoping to hop tonight- can't wait to see the pretty creations this image inspires!

Create Along With Us PTI Challenge: December 2015

Always so much inspiration with the PTI release! In an effort to get some tags done for Christmas I used the 'Create Along With Us Challenge'.

I've used a PTI tag die & vintage book print for the base. The sentiment is from Vintage Ornaments & the flower image/die is from Year of Flowers.
I wanted to tie the gold ink in so I used some 1.5" gold bonded glitter ribbon & tied it up with a red burlap string bow!

Hard to believe Christmas is this week! Yikes! I am still trying to visit blogs from the Coffee Lovers Hop! So much fun & inspiration there- I am in AWE of how many super star commenters there are!!

I was inspired by this card on this post:

Holiday Coffee Lovers Bloghop: Happy National Tea Day!

Today I wanted to get a little something posted for National Tea Day and join the hop again!
All the patterned paper is Little Yellow Bicycle. I've put my new Lawn Fawn set & dies to work again- it was fun to piece this together!
The tag is PTI

I have so much to get done, but this hop keeps calling my name! Loving all the inspiration I've seen already & looking forward to visiting more!!

MIM #234: Embellishing with Felt; Coffee Lovers Bloghop

Look at me go!
I'm playing along with the Coffee Lovers Bloghop and MIM! I really should be in bed, but why sleep when I can die cut felt? :D
I've used 2' Deep from PTI for the snowflakes & sentiment. Warm Happiness Too for the mug- on glitter paper. The snowflake is Spellbinders, sequins are Pretty Pink Posh & the felt is from a local fabric store that closed :(
I had to add some silver metallic string!

Another shot to show the shimmer!

Holiday Coffee Lovers Bloghop: Happy Hot Cocoa Day!

I'm playing along again with the Holiday Coffee Lovers Bloghop!
(You can see my first post here & check out the prize from Super Sponsor Ribbon Resource!)
Today is National Hot Cocoa Day, so I'm putting my new Lawn Fawn set to work!
Here's what I came up with:

I used a kraft tag and added the cute cup of cocoa & candy cane :)
The snowflake is from PTI's 2' deep set.

I've been baking all day! I'm so glad I took a break in time to play along on cocoa day!
That cocoa packet & awesome candy cane are from my Secret Santa at work- so darn cute! Today might be the day to enjoy them!
Looks like another great turnout for a fabulous hop- can't wait to take a hop around!
Thanks for stopping by!

The Ribbon Resource Christmas Crafting: Kid Crafts!

The Ribbonistas are sharing some fun ways to craft with kids and ribbon today!
We made ornaments for our project!

This first style was made with fimo clay. Incredibly easy, roll it out & cut it with a shaped cutter. We also stamped it with clear stamps & made a thumbprint heart before baking.
We hung it with 1/4 red chevron twill & gold metallic string to hang it!

We also made our own dough using this recipe I found on pinterest- there are a million!
I will say that even baking on low heat for a veeeerrrrryyy long time (hours) they still weren't all the way dried out & some of them cracked as they dried the rest of the way. Perhaps a dehydrater or a higher temp would've solved this, but they looked cute anyway & we didn't fret about it.

After making the dough you roll it out & cut with shaped cutters again.

When they were done baking we used watercolors on some!

The ornament above is hung with silver metallic string- the one below we used red & white Baker's Twine!

Holiday Coffee Lovers Bloghop

EEEK! So excited to be playing along with the Holiday Coffee Lovers Bloghop on behalf of The Ribbon Resource-
Here's what I created:

I used 2 different papers from a DCWV holiday stack- one for the panel & one I used my silhouette to cut the mug. I used this file, but I did alter it...
My mug is sitting on red velvet- so fun!
I added a snowflake to the center & some 1/4" crochet to the top.
If you click on the image you will see some 1/4" sheer white 'steam'!
What do you think? I'm really excited about how it turned out- and it's even flat for mailing!!
Can't wait to see all the inspiration that this hop brings!!

MIM #233: Splattering Technique

This week the challenge at PTI was to add some splatter to our project-
Here's what I came up with:

I used PTI dies to cut several tags. I added a diecut 'joy' to the large one & 'noel' was stamped in gold on the others.
The splatter was created with watercolor paints.
I didn't attach the baker's twine as I am going to package these up to give to my Secret Santa at work this week :)
Trying hard to not get so caught up in the crazy busy of the year & enjoy the time together as a family- we saw Santa on Friday & it was such a joy!
I hope you're enjoying the season too!

The Ribbon Resource Christmas Crafting: Ornaments

The Ribbonistas are hopping every Friday until Christmas to give you inspiration and chances to win some ribbon for yourself!

Here's what I came up with:

I used the 2.5" snowflake print ribbon- I cut it in half and frayed the edges- it took less than a yard to cover my glass ornament. I tried using mod-podge to glue it first, but that wasn't working- although it did allow me to shape it somewhat. I ended up hot gluing when the mod podge was dry.
I added about 9" of red 3/8" adhesive velvet ric rac to finish the top.

This was a pretty simple project and I like the rustic look!

Here's the lineup for the other Ribbonistas sharing ornament inpsiration:

And, of course, we are offering you some Christmas ribbon too!
2 5yd rolls of Christmas Ribbon- winner's choice!

PTI MIM #232: Layered Stamping on Kraft

The challenge this week was to stamp on kraft, using white ink to make the colored inks pop.
I used 2' deep- Here's how it turned out:

I really liked Dawn's example with the big flowers, but wanted to try this sled- it was definitely a challenge!
I topped it off with 1/4" red silk- which I really like, but it also hides the silver snowflake I stamped on top of the first white one & didn't like at all!
Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday weekend- our house is nearly complete in it's Christmas transformation! Here's hoping for snow now- at least in the mountains!!!
Have a great week!

November 2015 PTI Blog Hop

Already the 25th of the month- and a beautiful image in non-traditional colors was our inspiration for the PTI Blog Hop!
Here's what I came up with:

Spellbinders dies were used to cut & emboss the focal image. Using a Wreath for all Seasons I built a wreath using the colors of the ornaments in the inspiration pic. Smokey Shadow, several Fresh Ink colors & Delicata in silver. (It is so hard to capture the glimmer of that ink in pics! I tried a different angle below!)
The image is popped up with loops of teal 3/8" satin tucked below.

I've got lots of prep for Thanksgiving (HOW is it HERE already?!) but looking forward to hopping!!

MIM #129: Fabric (or ribbon!) Scrap Christmas Trees

This week Melissa challenged us to make a fabric strip Christmas tree. Tonya sent me the link and told me this challenge had my name all over it- so glad I got a chance to play along!

I made a tag with my ribbon tree! I've used so many bits of green Ribbon Resource ribbon I can't even list them all tonight!
I topped it with a 3/4" silver satin star and scattered 3/8" multi-sized pearl beads throughout.
A Tiny Tags die is stamped with a sentiment from the same set; snowflakes are from 2 feet deep. I'm with Melissa- never too many snowflake stamps!
I like how this little tree turned out! I may go back for a little more trimming- but excited to have another fun tag ready for the holidays!!

Ribbon Resource & DCWV: Christmas Craft Ideas

The Ribbonistas are hopping with DCWV this week to showcase some great craft ideas!
I was sent the Christmas Village Stack- it is crazy cute! It has loads of houses and stores to cut out and embellish, as well as cute punch out embellishments, reindeer and glitter trees!
I started with this fun house!

You're definitely going to want to click on the images to look closer!
I've used the pearlized string beads to outline the windows and roof line- they really look like lights on the house in person!
The 1/4" red adhesive scallop border adds a fun detail to the house!

This guy needed a red nose- he received one by adding one 3/8" red mini pom to his nose!

This glitter tree is so pretty- hard to capture the sparkle in pics, but it's there! I added more of the pearlized string beads, as well as the gold metallic string- wrapping them both around the tree. Of course we needed a topper too! I used one star from the 1.5" silver star banner and glued one star from the 3/4" gold satin star ribbon to the center. I did the same on the back so this tree looks great from either side!

I added more of the red scallops to the back of the house, as well as creating a wreath using the 3/16" ivory wired beads, then wrapping with more of the gold metallic string. A 1/4" red silk bow finishes it off! Do you like that bit of white tulle 'smoke'? I think it adds a fun touch!

I love how much detail the ribbon/beads that I used add, yet it didn't take a lot of any type! The gold metallic string and pearlized string beads may be a bit over a yard each since I wrapped them around the tree too- everything else is well under a yard!

Ok, we've got a week of fun, and of course chances to win some goodies of your own!
Not one chance- but THREE!!! Three prize packs made up of goods from DCWV and Ribbon!!
Lots of ways to win- commenting is one! Check out the details at Ribbon Resource!!

I don't want you to miss anything, so here's the line up for the week:

October 2015 PTI Blog Hop

A quick pop in to post a fun tag for October's PTI blog hop.
I used my new Meadow Greens Dies on DCWV paper (I stamped each leaf/cluster twice, once with the paper right side down so that I could have a double sided leaf/cluster- does that make sense?)
Tied the bunch of leaves with beautiful May Arts 1/4" red silk ribbon and adhered to the PTI tag.
Stamped the bottom with a sentiment from Merry Little Christmas.
Finished it off with 1.25" red silk, tied with ivory burlap string.

Love the CAS look while still getting dimension!

Happy Hopping!
