OTWC #47

I admit it. Purple doesn't make it into my crafting too often... but this challenge seemed like great timing, as it is a color that always reminds me of my sister. Not sure if it's becasue she's a February birthday (and the birthstone is purple), or if it's because when her twin girls were born one was in pink & one was in purple.... (for the record, we could ALWAYS tell them apart- even if they were wearing identical outfits...!)

A long story to tell you that I made this for my sis's birthday:
I used PTI giga guidelines & guidelines 2 on vellum with SU! ink. The accent I stamped in versamark & added UTEE & while it was still liquid poured glitter on top. I know you're imagining how that worked, what with the embossing tool going & all. I'll confirm- glitter was EVERYWHERE.

I love the effect it made though! Looks like paper that I would buy if I'd seen it at the store! I machine sewed it on to the notebook cover, added some butterflies punched out (also sewn on- and stamped on the love lives here butterfly). I used May Arts crinkle ribbon & Glue Arts ribbon adhesive to secure it.
The inside I added some more purple cardstock & stamped it with PTI text for a finished look. A few pages have the butterfly stamped on them as well.

I think she liked it.

PTI blog hop February 2011

This month's challenge was about adding scallops! Here's what I came up with:

I used PTI fine linen as the base, ocean tides & book print for the scallops (cut with the large scallop border). Banner builders for the detail on the scallops & the sentiment is from round & round. That is stamped on May Arts 1" satin/grosgrain edge in vintage cream ink.

The bird is cut from paper in my stash with the Straight from the nest cartridge in my cricut. I added some tea dye ink to her.... I was inspired by the Embellish color trends with birds

Thanks so much for stopping by- have fun hopping!!

I've got another card to share for the OTWC #46!
More of that incredible DCWV Mi Casa paper (I could seriously get into how fast these cards come together!) And don't you love that May Arts sheer ruffle ribbon? It is absolutely divine....

This time I added a quick stamp sentiment (PTI butterfly dreams)- I did stamp it in 2 colors- wanted to tie that aqua in some more! Fiskars border punch. The hydrangea is from my stash.

Still lots of snow here- may need to build another snow man!
Thanks so much for stopping by- always love to hear what you think!

OTWC #46

Look at this gorgeous inspiration for OTWC #46!

So here's what I came up with:

This is DCWV Mi Casa paper- it's so gorgeous & has the challenge colors in it! I added some May Arts sheer pinstripe ribbon, a button from my stash tied on with May Arts burlap string.

Isn't that shimmer amazing?
Today is my sister's birthday- and it's been snowing like mad all day! None of us can remember a year that it's snowed on her birthday! So since Had & I didn't venture down the hill to take her her gift, we made a snowman in her honor!!!

Happy Birthday, Aunt Tina!! xoxo

Chick n Lil's Photo-Inspired Card Challenge

My friend, Pam, is having a fun challenge on her blog! Her daughter (chick n lil) took this gorgeous pic & the challenge is to use it as inspiration!

So here's what I came up with:

The stamps are Amuse- the yellow ink is brilliance sunflower yellow. I added the prismacolor pencil to try to capture the look of the zinnia in the pic....

spellbinders embossed frame finishes it off!
And for those of you that saw Had's stamping yesterday- here's the finished product!

Yes, her 'J' is backwards, but she didn't ask for any help with any of the words! And that's the TV with the heart on it- you can see she tried to fit 'at fred M' (short for Fred Meyers)- it's an ad on the tv!! (and she's got cocoa!)
and here's a painting she did at Christmas time:

I just thought it was soo cute, so it's still hanging in her art display...!
Thanks so much for stopping by- don't for get to play in Pam's challenge- you've got until the 25th! (I suggest you stay & check out her other posts too- she's a great stamper & always cracks me up!)
And there's still time to enter the May Arts weekend giveaway!!!

Triggered a Couch...

As soon as I saw the trigger at Moxie Fab I knew I needed to play (and that I wanted that room!)
And this week the PTI Make it Monday challenge is to add a vellum sentiment strip...
And Wee Memories Challenge is to be inspired by something-not sure if the trigger counts, but
Laurel's card on page 44 of Stamp it! Techniques has a couch stamped on fabric....
So here's what I came up with:

PTI spring rain & soft stone cardstock. PTI woodgrain embossing plate with tea dye ink. PTI couch stamped on a cream sock (!), pillows stamped on the Jenni Bowlin index sheet for 4x4 papers (damask) & chamomile tea to tone down the white- blue pillow is stamped with versamark & journaling lines. (versafine ink for all outlines & sentiment).

May Arts crochet (can't seem to get enough of that!) & red burlap string. I also used a pretty Graphic 45 flower as an accent, and a doily of course!

And because this is just too fun for words, I have to show you my little stamper at work:

She stamped a scene (my parent's house- although I assure you their couches are not pink!)

So cute!
Don't forget to head over to May Arts for a chance at another ribbon giveaway- it's going through the weekend!
Thanks so much for stopping by! I'd love to hear what you think!!

PDCC #68 & OTWC #45 & Wee 43!

Isn't this week's inspiration full of loveliness?

And how about this-

vintage-pretty, so here's what I came up with:

I had to force myself into not having the edges line up! I've got LOTS of layered goodness here!
I started by stamping the house/grass from PTI's love lives here on fabric. Then I used MS doily punch on some beautiful Graphic 45 Once upon a springtime paper. That's layered between May Arts satin pleats, topped with May Arts crochet & velvet ric rac. May Arts wrinkle ribbon that I tea stained makes the bow, with a flower punched from a Starbucks sleeve topped with a flower I crocheted. I swiped a bit of white paint across the sleeve so it didn't look so 'new'! The doily frame is nesties, with the center cut out. Lots of stitching with strings left here & there....

I tried to make it messy- what do you think?
Lots of time left in the Play Date challenge AND OTWC! (totally out of character, I know!)- so head over & play!
Since this is a 'congrats on your new home' card for my Aunt- I'd say that qualifies as a 'life/living' theme! So I'm adding it to the Wee Memories challenge too!
Thanks soooo much for stopping by!
