Papercrafts Go-To-Sketch #3
I'm just under the wire for participating in Paper Crafts Go-To-Sketch Challenge #3- the deadline is tonight!
I had seen these images in the American Crafts Dear Lizzy stamp set- and thought they would be great for this challenge! (as if I needed an excuse- I was already in love!)
Cardstock is PTI spring rain, ink is PTI vintage cream & pure poppy. Flower is prima, crocheted flower by moi, & button truly vintage- from a jar that was my grandma's....
I apologize for the pics- it has been raining forEVER.
Thanks so much for stopping by! And I know you're thinking it- what? no fabric?! *giggle*
Flying a Moxie Fabric Kite
Well it's not like I didn't warn you.... Yes, yet another Moxie Fab Fun with Fabric card!
My daughter was a little sick, so we had some serious couch/tv time this week- which included Mary Poppins of course (after all, she's practically perfect!). So after listening to 'Let's go fly a kite' several times...well, you get the idea. :)
Cardstock is PTI, pp is My Mind's Eye. The stamp is from Practicing Creativity's Look Up set, inked with PTI spring moss. And the fabric...oh the fabric! It's Basic Grey!!! How awesome is that? I sewed it to some cardstock & filled it with some poly-fil. Handstitched the tail with May Arts twine (after machine sewing it with the matching pale pink thread only to decide it didn't show up enough!). Embroidery floss from my stash.
Head over to Moxie Fab to see what others are doing with felt! (I promise there ARE others- it's not just a zillion links back to me! Ha!)
Thanks so much for stopping by- I'd really love to hear what you think! (and I totally apologize if you too have 'let's go fly a kite' in your head- at least it's a cheery song!)

Embellish with Butterflies
I know. You're shocked I've made something without fabric. Don't worry, I've got another one up my sleeve! *giggle*
In the meantime, the fabulously talented Charlene Austin had posted her creation for this embellish challenge. I had intentions of using this for the PTI blog hop, but came up with something else for that. But with those colors AND butterflies, well how could I resist?
Here's what I came up with:
PTI spring moss & kraft cardstock, butterfly dreams & fancy fluorishes stamps, butterfly die. Brilliance black ink & May Arts black twine.
Head over to the Embellish blog- you have until Thursday night to participate!
Thanks so much for stopping by!

More Moxie Fabric
Can you believe it? ANOTHER fabric card for Moxie Fab World's Fun With Fabric Challenge.
I fused some fabric to interfacing & die cut it with my cuttlebug. Lots of hearts layered into a fabric flower. I added a pearl & some clear seed beads to the center.
I was going for a 'leaf' effect with the ribbon- what do you think?

I made pleats to acentuate the flower & just sewed it down. Used my Grandma's pinking shears to trim the extra fabric.
Thanks so much for stopping by- I would love to hear your thoughts! Then don't forget to head over to Moxie Fab to see what fun creations everyone is making with fabric!

PTI blog hoppin' with felt
It's that time again! :) This month's challenge was to use felt. I don't have any PTI felt (yet), so this is from Joann's cut with nesties. I embossed the label after stamping with BB:tin types in versafine sepia ink.
Chalked the inside of the label for a little more definition. Tea inks around the edges & a little brown pearl for the eye.
Even did the inside of this one! :)
Thanks so much for stopping by- I'd love to hear what you think! And Happy Hopping!!! :)

Moxie Fabric Butterfly
I know. THREE posts in one day. I'll give you a second to recover from the disbelief...! :)
I'm going crazy with fabric-and it's all Cath's fault!
I used my PTI butterfly diecut & stamped under the cutout with PTI text in chai ink. Stitched around the border (and the butterfly- but don't look too closely at that!) & added some May Arts silk ribbon.

Pillowcase top
I've been wanting to make one of those pillowcase dresses/tops for Hadley for the longest time! All this playing with fabric for Moxie Fab inspired me to do just that! :) There are so many delicious fabrics out there....
Moxie fabric flower
Well here's another Moxie Fun with Fabric card! :) I can't even begin to tell you how soft this fabric is- totally yummy! I had a few scraps of it & thought they'd make a fun rolled flower! Keeping it totally simple I used a scrap of satin fabric as my 'ribbon'.
What do you think?

A Moxie EBTKS challenge
EBTKS challenge #15 is a sketch challenge, and I rather like it! :)
Moxie Fab World is also having a Fun with Fabric challenge, so I thought it would be great to combine the challenges here.
PTI kraft cardstock, I think the fabric is MODA, but wouldn't swear to it. Ticket is Tim Holtz with a little distressing.
I made that seam binding myself! I used some tattered angels spray (wheat?) to get that color.... Attached it with a safety pin.
Machine stitching around the panels....
Go check out the other takes on the sketch at EBTKS & all the fun fabric at Moxie!

Ty's birthday Bug...
My nephew turned 11 this year...hard to believe! I remember his birth like it was yesterday! Jay Buhner (now retired Seattle Mariner) hit a homerun right before he arrived- nice welcome! :)
My sister had a red '71(I think) VW Superbeetle. It had a factory sunroof and was surprisingly fun to drive. I know she still misses it...
PTI enjoy the ride, white cardstock & pure poppy ink. Cosmo Cricket pp, brilliance black ink, May arts black twine & machine stitching. The headlights are from Joanns.
The focal panel was cut with a label nestability die & a fiskars edge punch for the red panel.

Birthday wishes...
May is a very busy birthday month in this neck of the woods.... This one was for my brother-in-law. PTI ocean tides & smokey shadow cardstock, anniversary stamp set, smokey shadow ink, and woodgrain impression plate. I used a black glaze pen, may arts black twine, and buttons from my stash.
If you click on the pics you may see more detail....

Teacher Appreciation....
Wow, am I behind with the posts!!! A couple of weeks ago was teacher appreciation week, so we made a little something for Had's most amazing preschool teacher. We have been so fortunate to have her in our lives, and while Hadley is so looking forward to kindergarten in the fall, I will miss her preschool teacher with my whole heart!
Just a little something for her- she's crafty too, so I wanted the packaging to be pretty and reusable!! :) So here's some MME quite contrary paper as the wrap (doesn't it make you swoon?), some may arts silk ribbon, tissue & the back side of the dp punched for the flowers, topped with a button.
Wanted to try the whole prettied-up magnet thing too... let me tell you, there's a very yucky sound made when you break your 'C' plate in your cuttlebug.... just sayin'.
It was TOTALLY worth breaking that plate to see the look on her face when we gave her the little gift! :)
Thanks so much for stopping by- love to hear what you think!

I've had something under my hat for awhile.... My first publication!!!!!! Can I just tell you what an infinity it feels like from the time you get the happy email until the magazine comes out? But now it's here....

In case you wanted to see the card (and not my crazy-happy face in the way...)
I'm so excited about this! My friend Cindy has 2 cards in this issue! She's such a rockstar- and the one that has encouraged (aka enabled) me to get back into stamping again- AND to submit!!! Thanks Cindy!
Thanks so much for stopping by- I do appreciate everyone that comes by & says hi!!!

Three 'chairs' for Mother's Day!
Happy Mother's Day everyone!!! Cath has another fun challenge going over at Moxie Fab- it's the Three cheers for chairs challenge!
I thought this chair I found from Teresa Collins was perfectly pretty, and paired along with some of that gorgeous My Mind's Eye Lush paper...well, let's just say I {heart} it! :) Card base is PTI vintage cream, and the black layer is paper from a LSS's store package. A little ruffled seam binding on the bottom seemed (hahaha) appropriate!
The sentiment inside was created on my computer, and I layered more of the yummy papers with it for a finished look....
This card is going to the BEST Mom I know- MINE!!! She is so fantastic, and I am proud to say that she is my dearest friend too!
Thanks so much for stopping by- and head over to Moxie fab to see some more fun chairs!!!
