Ribbonista Christmas Blog Hop!

Welcome to my post for the First Ever Ribbonista Blog Hop! :)
I've got a fun and fast idea for Christmas tags for you!
Chalkboard art is all the rage right now, so I thought it would be fun to make some tags with the idea!
I picked up some chalkboard paint at the local craft store, as well as some balsa wood shapes.
I used my crop-a-dile to punch a hole.
I painted both sides & let them dry. Two coats did the job! (granted, painting the tags 2 times doesn't make this a 5 minute project, but you can paint them super fast & set them aside to dry whilst you are doing 300 other things *wink*)
Don't forget to 'season' your chalkboard! Rub chalk over the entire surface, then wipe off. By doing this you will be able to reuse your tag- the original message won't be there permanantly!
I used Baker's Twine for my loop.
For the first pic I used a piece of chalk, but then I got fancy & bought a 'Bistro Chalk Marker'! :)
They look great tied onto packages!
Ribbon used:
Now you probably can guess that there will be prizes to be had, so make sure that you leave coments on all the ribbonista's blogs for a chance to win, and to be completely inspired!!!

Such a cute and fun idea, would be perfect to do with kids too for a treasure year after year-the recipient could then hang their tag on the tree as an ornament....Ohh, I am definitely going to mark this down for next year!

I LOVE the idea that you can reuse the tags! When that much time goes into something, having it be reusable is GREAT!

I've never thought of using chalkboard for tags. If you use regular chalk you can use it over and over. Good idea.

I love using twine for my cards. I'm going to try the chalk board technique. That's a new one for me.
