Welcome to day 2 of the May Arts Valentine Hop!
I've got a fun project to share!
I've used red burlap & hand embroidered it with 1.25" white silk!
I simply drew a heart with chalk on my burlap & stitched away.
I can't remember what this stitch is called- it's like a running stitch, but starts nearly in the middle of the last stitch- giving a rolled appearance.
I love the contrast of silk & burlap!
I used double-stick tape to attach it to a piece of foam core I had so that the burlap didn't pull when I hung it.
I used a needle with a large eye for my stitching.
Like my fancy 'hoop'? Hahaha. In all honesty a hoop would've made this a much easier project!
Now don't forget to visit each blog & leave a comment- two lucky people will be chosen for a May Arts prize :)
Thanks for stopping by! I hope you've been inspired!
Here's the lineup so you don't miss any stops!
