November 2012 PTI blog hop

Happy Holidays!
Wow, how crazy that it's that time already?
This month the PTI hop challenged us to be inspired by a book cover. Nothing popped into my head immediately, so I started browsing book covers! I almost chose the Secret Garden, but instead went with The Catcher In The Rye. It's been a long time since I read it, but I let the CAS design, clean font & gold inspire me.
I used a glue pen to apply the gold embossing powder for the  border. The sentiment from Tree Trimming Trio is also embossed with gold powder.
Here's the cover:

I can hardly believe I've created something without ribbon! After you hop, make sure to stop by the May Arts blog to enter the Thanksgiving weekend giveaway! :)
Thanks so much for stopping by & happy hopping! :)

Helmar + May Arts

Welcome to the Helmar & May Arts hop!
These two companies give me much to be thankful for! I've shared my love for Helmar adhesives here many times, so I was so excited to have the opportunity to share a project using their quick dry adhesive!
You should've arrived from the talented Emily Lanham's blog!
I've made a fun tree using the great Imaginesce Christmas Cheer paper line!
I simply punched circles with a 1 3/4" punch, and used the quick drying adhesive to lock them in place on a papier mache cone. I painted a wooden candlestick from the craft store black for the base of my tree, and put the cone right on top!
I then wrapped the tree in the silver eyelash ribbon, and topped it with the silver metallic string for a very festive garland! These were also glued in place with the Helmar's 450.
And a silver string bow top made with the bowdabra! Fun!
Ribbons used:

And the fabulous Helmar's 450 quick dry!

Thank you so much to Helmar for such awesome adhesives- and thank you for your time! Here's the hop schedule- I've included both days so you don't miss a bit! Enjoy all the inspiration, and be sure to leave comments on all the posts for a chance to win some great products!
Your next stop on the hop is thee fabulous Jingle!

Day 1 – November 19th
Day 2 – November 20th

Wishing you and your family a happy Thanksgiving!

Giving Thanks

Hi there! I've got a banner to share that I made because I was inspired to! Yes, I've got lots of things I should be doing, but sometimes letting the creativity guide us is just what we need to feed our soul, right?
So here it is:
I used the awesome Spellbinders Nested Lacy Pennants Dies, hand cut burlap, and machine sewed it in place.
Next I cut my letters with the 'Child's Year' cricut cartridge on brown paper, then covered it with MS copper glitter. It looks so pretty with the May Arts silky crush in rust.
It's hanging in my entry, and will be in perfect view when we gather around the table with our family to celebrate Thanksgiving!
And luckily, I've managed to finish in time to play in the Moxie Fab World Canvas, Burlap & Cork challenge! Technically, I could play in the sewing challenge too, but since you really can't see the stitching, I guess it's not so innovative. hee. The theme at Ribbon Carousel is Fall/Giving Thanks- so I'd say this works perfectly for that! ;)
Thanks so much for stopping by! I'd love to hear what you think!

Have a happy day

Hadley had a birthday party to attend, which I of course didn't have cards made ahead for. hee. So I put this week's Make It Monday at PTI to work to make this fun card!

That card as well as the one below use the Glitz 6x6 Cashmere Dame pad- yay me for breaking into it! :)
I added a 'k' (the birthday girl's initial), some machine stitching & finished it with a quick bow of May Arts light blue sheer ribbon. I love it when they look that cute and are super quick!
And here's another peek of my super cute jellyfish- her costume got even more cool when it got dark!
